I have a hot new laptop to go with my hot little phone. Now I can actually e-mail people back and talk with them online, since I won't be stuck in the most uncomfortable computer chair ever!
Work has been fun and yet really stressful. I really like the three women I work with, but the big dumb ogre has got to go. Two of my four co-workers will be leaving and I haven't decided what I will do with myself when that happens, taking it one day at a time right now. The world of veterinary medicine is coming back to me very quickly and I've been having fun re-acquainting myself with the procedures. We will be having a sit down with the ogre sometime in the next two weeks, I'm trying not to make up my mind about if I stay or go until I get an idea of what the options are within the company.
February is rapidly approaching, as is our cruise to the Bahamas!!! Our friend Hannah had prepaid for a two person cruise, and she invited us, so we upgraded to three and will spend 3-4 days on the cruise and a few more days in Florida. We are very excited, but there is a lot to do before we can go. I need to get my birth certificate replaced after my wallet was stolen last year.
I won't even get into the crap going on with my family. It's hard to be this far away and not help them through some very tough times, but it's also nice to be able to separate my life from it, the stress of being surrounded by their crisis would give me an ulcer. If you really want to know, drop me a comment with your e-mail addy and I'll fill ya in.
I've been hanging out with my little every Monday. We've been doin some fun things, movies, bowling, dinner with her family, hanging at the arcade, swimming next week. Even though it takes up a good portion of my day off, it's been giving me something important to do. I don't know if I will sign up for another year in July or not, mostly just because I'm having trouble trying to find time to run errands and keep up with old friends with a weekend that's partially spoken for. I love Carli and her family, we'll see how the rest of our year finishes out.
Christmas was awesome. I got to spend four days at home with my girl and got to come back and have second Christmas. Actually more than one Christmas as several of my gifts came in late so I'm continuing to get presents. One left to go. Yay for extended holidays. This year I got a bunch of Doris Day movies, Under the Tuscan Sun, season one and two of Grey's, this AMAZING Doris Day box set with 8 cd's and a hardcover book, a gift certificate for my tattoo, my off the market bath and body works scent(4 bottles), my favorite candle, a purse, and a million other things. I was spoiled rotten.
Things are great on the girl front. For x-mas I got her a digital video camera and a gift certificate toward her new laptop which she FINALLY got. She's now got all the basics to get her business off the ground. I'm so proud of her, I can't wait to see each of her ideas come to life. We're also lovin the netflix!!
The animals are good. Beacon and Levi had their 3rd birthday yesterday so they got to go to petsmart to pick out a toy and treat. Obi, Beacon and Lily all had dentals this past week, so they came to work with me, were anesthetized and had their teethers cleaned and were all kinds of pathetic waking up. The bunnies, hamster, bird, fish, frogs, lizard, crabs, and cats are well also.
Okay, I've had a cough for a month that won't subside. I must now try to subdue it with a ginger ale.
Later days.
