Zen Pencils: "CARL SAGAN: Make the most of this life"

The artist takes quotations from "inspirational folks" and transforms them into cartoon quotes. This one takes a quote from a Carl Sagan when he was hospitalized and facing his own mortality and uses it to illustrate a modern (yet not so much) issue. Some might take Sagan's word as a condemnation of religion. I see it as affirmation of living in a way which doesn't require embracing religion to live instead of fighting over who has the best afterlife.

OK, now that we've had a moment of serious, now for something completely different. David Hewlett's "After Stargate" video. Is it just me, but in the intro bit, did anyone else feel he was channeling Old Spice Guy, but "I'm on a spaceship city" just doesn't have the same ring to it? Also, he called The Doctor a punk. [wheeze]

Lastly, a bit of something about CBS trying to ride Sherlock's coattails with their Americanized show Elementary (made after originally approaching the BBC folk about doing a Sherlock show, mind). So they've cast Lucy Liu  as a female Watson. Yeah, there's no question that Sherlock/John will be canon, amirite?
