I read too much fanfic
I think I've already admitted here that I'm addicted to Investigation Discovery, which is a true crime channel. It started as a background noise that would remain relatively steady when I was dealing with migraines, now it's also background noise when there's nothing else on.
I was typing away on my last post when the woman reporting on the crime was saying the suspect claimed he was involved with the victim in a consensual act involving breath play. Cut to her speaking rather sarcastically towards the fourth wall along the lines of "Breath play? What is that? Is that actually a thing?" My reaction was "You're either very sheltered and/or do not read fanfic." Either way, a supposed expert on crime should know about this sort of thing, right? At least research it enough to not look like an idiot on TV.
