I'm insane, clearly.

I have weird dreams. Mostly what makes them weird is that they tend to center around completely mundane things, yet happen in the most not-mundane of ways. Like I'm driving along a busy city street and having no trouble with the car or with the traffic or anything like that, but the car is actually just a wire frame with bucket seats and a chain-link steering wheel and no rational means of propulsion. Or I'm meeting my friends for dinner out at K&W Cafeteria, but when I get there the friends I though I was meeting have been switched out with people I sincerely never want to see again in my life - yet we still have a perfectly pleasant meal together before going about our respective business.

So yea, my dreams are strange. I understand about 98% of what's going on in the dreams while I'm dreaming them, and after I've woken up I manage to still understand less than half and I spend most of the day revisiting the issue and trying to figure it out. Which I never do, but at some point during the day I just cease to care, so at least I understood while I was dreaming it, right?

Not sure exactly where this thought was going anymore. I guess because earlier this week I dreamed that my best friend from Scotland had left her fiance to come find me in my new state - which was probably California, but definitely wasn't here - and my new home which looked like an MC Escher lithograph because for some reason all of my dream landscapes tend to look like an MC Escher lithograph so that she could declare her undying love of me and become my life mate. And really she took it pretty well when I told that no matter how much I love her, I'm still straight and we can only ever be friends. But what about her fiance? See that's the stupid thing: all I wanted to know was what about her fiance, and that's all I thought about after I woke up.

And then just last night I dreamed about Em's bridal party and our being together for some dresses-and-photos event at her house that wasn't her house and that didn't include her hubby, and Holly was the only one who was driving her actual car - I was driving my mom's old Carolla and so far as I can tell everyone but the random black girl who was apparently two bridesmaids transmogrified into one woman were just teleporting. And then we were going to the beach for a couple days, even though it was freezing out. I seriously have no idea what was going on there. But why was Holly the only one in her real car? And why were the maid of honor and sister of the groom turned from two separate white chicks into one black one? What exactly is my brain trying to tell me here?

And why does everything always look so Escher?
