Y'know, getting woken up to the sound of a fire alarm because someone was showering without using their fan is not a good way to begin your Sunday. And discovering you've gotten yet another letter from the British TV Licensing bureau to let you know that you're under investigation for illegal television usage because you haven't bought one of their £135.50 licenses doesn't do anything to improve the day.
I'm not forking over nearly half of a month's rent just for the right to watch TV. Especially since I neither watch, nor even own, a TV. So I went to the website on the letter that said go here to stop the investigation, and the only thing you can do on the website is buy the licenses! No. Not in the mood for shit like that today. I sent in an "email query" that said, in the most irritated terms I could muster when still sleep fogged and suffering from fire alarm headache, that I don't have a TV and being American, wouldn't know what to watch even if I did have a TV, and that I don't need one of their exorbitantly priced TV Licenses (they're the ones who're high enough on themselves to capitalize it). And then I blasted them for not having any way to tell them that on their website as advertised in their investigation letter and told them they needed to fix the problem. And then, just for good measure, I said thank you and have a nice day.
Now excuse me while I try to decide whether or not I'm going to attempt sleeping some more, or just accept that I needed to get back on a normal schedule anyway and force myself to stay up for the rest of the day.
