Full, if unproductive, weekend again

Saturday I set out with Annie to see the Oscar exhibit at the FIDM-neither of us realizing that FIDM, being a school, would be closed for spring break. So, being as we were already downtown, we should have gone fabric shopping-but I didn’t feel like it, so we went to Santa Monica for tea at the Tudor House instead. It was a very nice tea, and I came home with a Violet Crumble and wine gums that I didn’t precisely need but really enjoyed nonetheless.

Saturday afternoon Thomas made an Angel Food cake for Easter dinner, and in the evening we went out for Cajun food and to the Barnes and Noble in Belmont Shores, where I paid very nearly full price for a knitting book so new it’s not available from Amazon till Tuesday. (I still should have waited.)

Sunday morning I woke up with a migraine. Thomas was very sweet: he brought me drugs and draped something dark over the bedrail to cut the light, allowed as how we’d get to Otuell’s whenever we did, and slipped away quietly to hunt Easter eggs in WOW.

I was feeling human by one, so we weren’t even late to the party, which was as lively and varied as ever. We consulted with Otuell on the Baronial coronets, and were very pleased at the ballpark figure we arrived at. As usual, there was too much to eat and we ate too much of it, and we didn’t get home till 11:30.

Needlework: Did some more on the Assisi. Lost my scissors, making that two pair within months of each other. I’m beginning to think I don’t deserve to have good scissors-or at least that I can’t afford to keep replacing them.

needlework, friends, reading, health
