Took off work today and headed up to my old school. Saturday is graduation at my old school, so I wanted to come up. I intended to support two of my friends, but one (Blondie) blew me off today and I may not get to see him at all tomorrow. I did get to see the more important one, though. He is one of my Ducklings and also a friend on here!
parker16zan ! Ahhh I can't believe I've known him for almost three years. Feels like forever by now. I'm super proud of my eldest Duckling for reaching this milestone in life, and wish only the best for him as he moves on to bigger and better things.
My other Duckling (Dragon Age Girl) is staying in town with me tonight to attend graduation and support a few of her friends. It's been really nice to see her again, too. I've tried to keep in touch with her over the past year, but life is a time consuming thing for everyone and we just never really found time to call and catch up. Hopefully we can find time down the road.
It feels comforting to be back in this town. It's a cute little small town, with the most idealistic Main Street I have ever seen. Seriously, it is like a town from a feel-good TV drama. They even do seasonal parades and festivals and other events where they shut down the street for a day. It's always so much fun! I really miss the small town feel. Sure, my hometown has been named the "coolest small town in America" (Budget Travel 2016), but it just doesn't have the welcoming and active atmosphere that this place does. This place is a square of civilization, with enough to do so you can't say you're bored, and is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views. I never realized how much I missed living here and enjoying the atmosphere every day.
Anyway, I don't have much else to say. It was an exhausting day (my 4-hour drive ended up being 6 hours due to construction and accidents causing traffic, then I was running round to meet up with people). Hope everyone has a great weekend!
