Those are my boys, Isaac and Leopold (Zik and Leo for short). They are my sugar gliders. I have had them for four or five years now. I got them when they were just a couple of months out of pouch. They live in a 5' tall bird cage, but every night they get a few hours to run around "the playroom" where I have my computer, games, books, etc, and they keep me company.
I was letting them run around last night, so I thought why not make a cute post and share something good with the world. Besides, LJ needs more sugar gliders.
So here is a post of some pictures of them recently. If you have any questions, or want to see more pictures, just let me know, and I am more than happy to oblige~
Last night, Leo was running around like crazy and thought he could hide from me. He loves to sneak around the room when he thinks I'm not looking.
For some reason, Leo is obsessed with one backpack that I have. It is a narrow black and red one I got from Staples, and I use it to carry my PS4. I have no idea why, but he always wants to be in it, on it, around it, etc. He got very quiet at one point, and this is where I found him.
This one gives you an idea of his size. Nose to base of tail is about the length from my middle finger to the start of my wrist, if that. Zik is slightly shorter, but probably a bit rounder.
Isaac was hanging out in the cage~ He doesn't usually explore too much anymore. When we was younger he explored all of the time, but since we moved a couple of years ago he doesn't usually leave the little cage we keep in the playroom for long.
I have a ton of these kind of close ups of Zik, hahaha. He loves to sneak up on my phone or camera when I am trying to take pictures!
Here is a somewhat older picture of Zik, to give you another idea of size. This is about 2/3 of an ear of corn. He claimed it.
This is Zik taking a nap in my hand. He looks so soft in this picture, and he really is. They are like less fluffy chinchillas, so it feels almost like you are petting air or down feathers.
Every year for Christmas I make them do a little photoshoot. This one is from 2015.
Here are a few from Christmas 2016
Leo side-eyeing the stocking hanger.
Poor Zik looks like he is drowning and Leo gives zero cares in the world about it. Cracks me up every single time.
Leo helping me make his dinner about a year ago
Zik thinking he can sneka a snack whlie I was making their dinner.
Yes, I made Zik a cape. Because I could. You can't tell me that's not adorable.
This is probably my favorite picture of me and Zik. It was taken maybe three months after I got them.
So those are a few pictures of my boys~ Hope they brought a smile to your face today =^.^=
