Ah, I do one day of lower body weights for up to a half an hour and one day of upper body weights later in the week. I do 'cardio,' tummy work, and stretches too every day. I do the rower for 2000m which translates to around 12 minutes at the speed I usually go. The treadmill I do for between 20 and 30 minutes depending on the day. I don't want to spend my life at the gym so I try to keep my workout time down to around an hour, or a half hour on Mondays. Supposedly it is better for you to have a significant rest period between weight lifting for the muscle tears to rebuild into stronger muscles, but I haven't really researched it to know.

The treadmills we have have a light cardio cycle that they call 'fat burning' that is at 65% of max heart rate instead of 80% like a true cardio challenge. I count myself good so long as I'm between the fat burning heart rate and just below the true cardio rate. It isn't that I mind cardio workouts, it's that I am that out of shape and I can't sustain it without wanting to pass out shortly before I'm done. Sometimes the 'interval' training is called fitness testing on the treadmills. You might want to ask around. I just like the hill programs for the variety.

I hope you are having fun!
