Spiral Death and Rebirth
After lengthy discussions with several players, we've come to this: close Scarlet Spiral, start a new comm with some similar ideas.
Premise and Play
The setting is ANBU, five years after Kyuubi, two years before the Uchiha massacre.
The goal is to explore the reality of life as a ninja in Konoha's ANBU. ANBU is the special tactics and assassination squad. Special Ops/Black Ops. They do the real dirty work. They're like Navy SEALS, ARMY Rangers, Special Forces. This means the missions are ugly and dark. But there is room for normal life, too.
The focus will be on missions and character development.
Missions will consist of two or three man teams, assigned or volunteered for.
Characters will live in apartments at ANBU HQ.
Chuunin, Special Jounin and Jounin characters will be considered.
ANBU has divisions: Hunters-Field Ops (Assassinations, Thefts, Sabotage, Protection), Intel-Field Ops (Infiltration, Undercover, Spying), Intel-Internal Ops (Mission Planning, Control, Codes and Ciphers, Maps, Forgeries and Documents), Torture and Interrogation.
As in Spiral, excellent writing standards are what we're shooting for.
Comm Management
I will be moderator and will gate applications and manage the comm itself.
There will be an Administrator account that trusted comm members will have access to, for updating the thread index and other administrative work.
Players may have two characters.
Players will be limited in the number of simultaneous threads they can be involved in at once.
The number of threads per "month" will also be limited.
Timeline will be flexible, so that backstory threads can be written at any time.
Players must me at least 18 years old.
Transition from Scarlet Spiral
Players will write new bios for any characters they want to import to this new comm.
What happened in Spiral is not relevant here. If you want your character to have similar traits, fine, but character relationships are starting fresh. If you and another player want to define a relationship between your characters as existing prior to the start of "game" that's fine, but it's not based on what happened in Spiral. (However, imagining a similar backstory to what happened in Spiral is fine.)
This is the time to change the things you want to change about your characters, drop characters who aren't working, create new characters.
Possible Changes
Might mess with Kishimoto's timelines (since they are crack anyway) and make Itachi 16 years old. Might consider other changes as well.
