Kaya laid awake in his bed, thinking about Mana's voice and those slender hands on his cheek. His heart had thumped unsteadily by the proximity, and he had been so relieved when the taxi came so that he could get out before making an even bigger fool of himself. Surely, the other man had noticed how his breath had hitched when he touched him? What would he think of Kaya, acting like that? He cursed under his breath as he looked at the clock on his bedside table, two A.M. and no sleep. In a matter of days, a strict schedule of promoting their band and recordings would start. And, he'd have to face Hora the next morning as well about their name and how dinner had went. Thankfully, his bandmate wasn't an early riser either, so he might just get 5 or 6 hours of sleep anyway.
Hora was excited when they talked the next day, asking a thousand questions about the dinner he had had with Mana-sama. Kaya had just quickly described what Mana had asked of them during the dinner, skipping everything except work-related things. Hora had tried to get details about the evening from the singer, but gotten just very matter-of-factly descriptions of the house, trying to avoid anything about how it felt or anything that could be misinterpreted as feelings for the older man. Kaya smiled a bit at his friends curiousity but didn't want to look like a fangirl himself. Later they found themselves back in Mana's elegant office, sitting and chatting about the bands name and future. After serious discussions, Hora and Kaya had agreed to change their name from Rudolph Steiner to Schwartz Stein, still giving a nod to what they thought were important and defining to their music. Mana had looked pleased behind his desk when they had made the announcement, nodding to himself. ”We'll have to book you a photographer to make posters for upcoming lives” he said, ”so think about your image and how you want your logo to look like et cetera”
The two nodded seriously, before bowing and excusing themselves from the room. As soon as they left the room, they were chatting excitedly about outfits and poster ideas, both grinning wildly. Things were going exactly as they had hoped, and the record label would get them exactly where they wanted eventually.
Kaya had chosen his outfit carefully, a long black dress with corset and mesh top underneath. His long hair was meticulously curled and fastened in an updo, with a tiara on top. On his feet were high black platform boots that completed the look perfectly. He smiled at himself in the mirror, still nervous about what Mana would think about it. Of course, the style fitted their dark electronic music, but he wanted the older man to approve anyway. Approve of him. He was so absorbed in his thoughts that he didn't notice there was someone else in the dressing room. He startled as he heard a hum of approval close to his ear.
”Mana?” he stuttered, panicking at the proximity.
Mana took a stray lock gently and fastened it in it's correct place, making the other one blush slightly at the gesture
”It's a good look for you” the older man said softly, his voice dark and a bit sultry, to Kaya's surprise. Mana stood behind him, his hands firmly on the other's arms as he looked at him through the mirror. It wasn't anything that could interpreted as intimate or crossing the lines, but the singer's skin still tingled at the touch
”Ah, I am glad you like it” Kaya knew he was almost purring, but he couldn't help himself
The strong hands withdrew too soon, but he could see the older man give a sexy half-smile as he backed away. ”Time to go to work”
Kaya just nodded, his knees trembling slightly. God, if that smile wasn't delicious...
The photoshoot was long and tiring. But Kaya buzzed, seeing Mana watching him from behind the photographer, devouring him with his eyes, or so it seemed to Kaya at least. He was feeling hot, and not just from the studio lights. Finally, as he thought his legs wouldn't carry him much longer, Mana called out that they were finished for the day. Was it really usual for the producer to go as far as even staying for entire photoshoots? Kaya wondered to himself. Well, he enjoyed the attention, maybe far too much... But he was a singer, after all, and being in the spotlight suited him perfectly. And right now, he just wanted the attention from that gorgeous being with that half-smile that promised so much. Surely, he was out of bounds, but what could some harmless flirting hurt? Kaya was nervous, but those eyes on him gave him confidence.
Kaya walked up to Mana, ignoring the butterflies in his stomach
”I did good today, right?” he said smiling, trying to act innocently
A wicked smile spread across Mana's painted lips. ”Very”
”Then, you could reward me...” he tried to look like he thought hard about what to say next ”with a drink at your place?”
”Hmm...” Mana quirked an eyebrow slightly ”as you wish. Meet me back at my place in an hour”. With that, the older an bowed slightly and then walked away, smirking that annoying, delicious half-smile that made the other shudder in response. Kaya licked his lips as he watched the other's form as he walked away. This day seemed like it would work out a lot better than he had planned.
