Whether Phoenix likes it or not, he's getting a visit from one Mia Fey. She got word of his actions via word of mouth, and not coming to see Wright would be walking away from the problem. it doesn't take her long to figure out what room he's in and his current condition from the local staff.

It's not usually like her to just meander into a person's room, but Phoenix gets the lone case this time around. She doesn't even need to say any words, as the expression on her face is full of anger.

Ohhhh boy. Does he ever recognize that look. He swallows, then closes his eyes. "I know, I know, I'm an idiot. Go ahead and chew me out, I deserve it," he says, sighing. "It's my fault for not realizing how dangerous he really was."

He awaits your bollocking, madam.

Mia just stares at him for a few seconds, before walking over to the bed. Oh if looks could kill, you'd be dead by now, Phoenix. Instead of inflicting physical pain, Mia knows that the only way to gt her point across is through words.

"Why did you do it? I think you had an inkling of an idea that Mr. Gavin was bad news, but still...why? Weren't you thinking about the consequences of your actions?"

Phoenix mulls over his words a bit, trying to think of a way to explain this. "...honestly? No." He closes his eyes. "Mia... I saw the story the first time on the news. Realized what he'd been holding back. And when I realized the whole mess was the result of some sort of petty revenge... I guess a part of me just wanted to rub it in, to show him that all his attempts to crush me had failed. I wanted to shine for a bit." He swallows. "After all... the man had given me hell about it for a month. I was resigning myself to throwing my whole life away, and to have it just pass me by, to find out all the little details that he was hiding..."

He shakes his head. "It was stupid. And I guess I'm too used to having a court to protect me during those moments. I have no excuse." He holds his casted hand up. "...but at least I know how not to handle the Kristoph in my world now."

"Of course not. If you would've thought this over in advance, then we wouldn't be here right now. Normally, I'd scream at you and such, but that's not what I'm going to do." She sighs, taking a seat next to him calmly. "You did something stupid, and you've confessed to it. That's enough for me. Then again..."

Mia idly runs her hand along the side of the bed, as if organizing her thoughts . "He deserved it. Every moment he put you through some sort of pain...that man deserved it. In fact, if I ever see him, Kristoph Gavin will have a very difficult attorney to get through."

He blinks. He's a little surprised, to be honest; he'd been preparing himself for Mia ripping into him since the moment his wrist snapped. "I... thanks for understanding, I suppose, even if it was really stupid of me," he replies finally, still a bit bewildered.

He looks at his wrist. "You know, though... it wasn't a complete victory for him. Even if it hurt me, I did accomplish one thing out of this whole mess," he muses, then looks up at Mia.

"That boy... he's finally seen the guy for who he is."

Be at ease, Phoenix. Mia seems to be acting mature right now, at least until you get feeling better and are able to take a slap in the face. Instead, she just continues to watch him carefully, like always.

"I know. He really seemed worried about you. Once again, this is what we do in order to discover the truth. We put our lives on the lines for the sake of everyone else." She nods to herself. "You know...it's rather ironic that this is the only scene I can vaguely remember from that day."

He chuckles a bit. "Yeah, but it's not usually so LITERALLY," he says. "Still, it scared me for a bit. I'm just glad Kristoph didn't hurt him as well, or else I would've never forgiven myself." He pauses. "I have a feeling my alternate would've killed me, too." He briefly wonders if an alternate killing another alternate would have a term for it, or would just be called "suicide."

He looks over at her, blinking. "That day?" he asks, blanking a bit.

"Calm down for now. Mr. Justice will be okay, except for the looming fact that Kristoph might come back in the future. We just have to be ready for that time." Mia tries not to think about all the 'killing', focusing her attention on other topics of discussion.

"That day...When I got upset at your decision and I wanted proof that things would be alright."
