I am a tired man. Drained. I think I'm fighting off a cold. Everyone around me is sick. I do not want to get sick. I am going to visit Mandy next Friday & the last thing I need is to be sick during my one week with her every two months (who knows when I'll get this much time again)?
So my thesis is handed in. Anyone who wants to read it (the Sandman, my semi-surreal horror script) can let me know. Now I am on a break (cleaning my apartment) then I am determining my future plans.
Tomorrow I also go to Steve Burke's funeral. I am super freaked out by Steve Burke's death. This comes on the heels of Marvin Francis passing away. I hope this trend does not continue. Steve was young and by all appearances in great shape. I often ran into him at the gym, I would have seen him more if I was in better shape myself.
Less depressing, my upcoming projects:
GUINNESS: A screenplay I'm cowriting with Phil McGreevy, a comedy about the second oldest man in the world trying to kill the oldest man in the world so that he can make it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
APOKRYPHA: A long poem I'm resuming work on (starting writing this about a year ago) about the Apocalypse of Revelation occurring on the Prairies -- sort of a comedy about the end times.
SPOONY B: Developed the film last weekend with Peter's help, still have to figure out the details about editing it all.
MARTIAN PRESS: I have gotten my design software working again!! I will do a quick redesign on my Film/making chapbook and then design The Martian Press Review 01. I am adding a writer (Chris Macalino) to the MPR & maybe a few more pieces. I am still planning to put both of these chapbooks out near the middle or end of March. I will be making a big fuss out of the release when it happens, so you'll know about it.
& of course, as mentioned, I'm on vacation from Feb. 11-20. Though I'll do some writing/work while I'm gone, when Mandy is at work during the week.
I must go now, and drink more orange juice. I must hold off this impending cold. Fight it back, stab it in the heart. Later gators.
