What's new and not so exciting

Havent really updated in a month. So here's whats new:

Work is going fairly well. The new manager Carole it usually nice, but a moderate pain in the ass at times. I have noticed coming home from work that I have been quite sore as of late, my back mostly. My left elbow gets sore pretty often as well, no idea why. I have 2 months until my vacation, which I asked for April 4th-14th off. Inventory is April 3rd, so I figured that was pretty good timing, plus my birthday is April 7th. Wether or not I go anywhere depends highly on how my first month of paying house bills goes. MY friends Mike and Carrie practically begged me to go to Disneyland with them next month, during Easter weekend. Why the hell they picked Easter weekend is beyond me. They didn't seem to get the hint that, as a dairy manager, I might be needed around Easter weekend, you know, to make sure the egg orders are done correctly. I mean, no way in hell am I getting that weekend off. Last year my birthday was the day before Easter, and I asked for it off, and was denied. So I told them no way I can go. Then I mentioned if I was going anywhere it would be to visit my family in South Dakota. That finally got Carrie to back off, but not without sounding like a a whiner for not succeeding in getting me to go. Maybe pick a better weekend next time? Yeah, good idea.

The moving is going along slowly. Living room is all moved except for the big things. Next is the kitchen, then ugh, the bedroom, specifically the closet. Saturday the 23rd is the big moving day. Got my friends to ask for that day off to haul all the big stuff over. Yesterday I moved more stuff over, changed the locks on the front door, and yes, did the ceremonial first load of laundry in my own washer and dryer. That....just gave me goosebumps. The house is pretty much perfect for me. I can't wait to be completely moved in, and out of this dump of an apartment. Plus, the mailbox is only a minute's walk away at the most.

I'm getting a bit over $1,300 back from taxes.

The weather has been rather cold this week.

The NFL playoffs were great except of course for Dallas losing to the Giants. I remembered, though, how much better it is when the team you lose to goes on to win after that. Makes your team's loss look much better. Plus, there was NOTHING better than seeing the Patriots lose their perfect record, and then seeing Bill Belicheat run off the field ala Buddy Ryan with still 2 seconds left on the clock.

The Suns yesterday traded Marcus Banks and Shawn Marion for Shaquille O'Neal. My first thought was....um, what the fuck? A slow injury prone old 325 pound guy in our fast running offense? The more I think about it though, it's so crazy it just might work. He's probably the best center in Suns history already without even playing a game. That's not saying much. I know, if they don't win a championship this year, the whole trade is a faliure. Period.

Tomorrow is probably the last home basketball game of the season for Red Mountain's boys, unless something weird happens tonight and we win tomorrow. Girls had their last game last Friday at home. I was very impressed with how the girls played at home this year. The worst loss was a game they lost 2 of their best players to sickness and injury. Otherwise they had a hard schedule and did not lose by more than 9 to any of the top teams they played at home. Away games, I think they only won 3 all year out of about 18. The last game against Dobson, another top 5-10 team, they were losing 36-22 and came back to win 61-57. It was a fun game. They will finish 3rd in the region out of 5 teams. Quite a drop from state champions last year, but they could surprise some teams in the playoffs, we will see. The boys on the other hand, when they play well, they can beat anyone in the stae, such as Tuesday when we beat Mesa, a top 3-5 team, 82-75. Most of the time, though, they only play like that for half the game. They will more than likely finish 2nd in region.

Finally, the giel I mentioned in here before, yeah, not happening. When someone tells you they want to hang out but are just too busy, then find time to fly to Seattle, alone, for 3 1/2 days of a 3 day weekend, and in the process, meet a guy there and spends most of the weekend hanging out with said guy, when they told you originally they didn't know anyone in Seattle to begin with, it's probably wise to move on. Of course, I ended up completely butchering any chance at a friendship in the process, but, she even told me herself I wasn't missing out on much, so I guess I'll take her word for it. I did, however, have a date with another woman who lives in Glendale. It went very well, except for the crappy movie we saw (One Missed Call.) We ended up afterwards going to the local bar and had a few drinks, then to a park...ok, not just any park, but the SAME FUCKING PARK that I went to with the Amy girl I saw way back in 2001...the one who was seeing the Dean guy at the same time, I'm sure one person on my friend list remembers that. Well, anyways, we ended up there in the sand and the light sprinkling rain, making out for a good hour. Guess I can now say I have made out in the rain now. It's was pretty nice I must say. We got along really well. Of course, there is a catch...she has 3 kids, aged 7, 3, and 1, and they all live with her parents. Yeah...I guess I'll just see what happens. We are planning to go out again Saturday.

That'll be it for now.
