Life Goes On

Despite my sadness for Nyles, I'm filled with gladness for other things: for spring, for tea, for my beloved, for luck, for love.

Today at the market, my favorite farmers were back. I didn't really need any food, but I bought some leeks and dried white beans from them, to celebrate.

Tonight I think I will make a stew - a white bean stew filled with the promise of spring: white beans, white leeks, carrots, the two ears of corn we have, and saffron to make it gold like the sun.

We'll eat that with rice over the coming week for lunch and be full of joy, remember lives that were, being thankful they were here, and thankful that we still are.
