Should I pout because you didn't tell me about apple picking like you said you would? :)

When I used to do apple picking in CT, I would can jars of apple sauce and jars of pie filling. The pie filling was great, because 1 quart jar of pie filling was perfect for generously filling a deep dish crust. So later in the winter, I'd just make a crust, open a jar, warm in oven, MMMM! The apple sauce recipe I used was an apple-cinnamon-raisin sauce. If you're interested in the recipe, I can see if I can find it.

I had about 5 people all say they were interested maybe without giving me a single date that possibly would work for them. I had one person who had a car, and said they had a good date, and then three other people who wanted to go.

I am sorry I forgot to tell you, but you were clear that you might be going the weekend before and could not give me a yes or no until much later.

My friend filled her car up with other folk.

I have an apple sauce recipe I made up already :)

No worries! We actually did go the weekend before, but up in Vermont the orchards were long picked out. I got a grand total of three apples. :) But we got some AMAZING cider.

I'm going to check for apples at the Union Square market. You've got me in the mood for apple-y stuff.

You missed Apple Crumble off that list. As a Brit, I feel most disappointed that one of my favourite puddings is missing. ;)

It's almost always too sweet for me :/

Hmm. What recipe do you use? My mum reduces the sugar content to the bare minimum due to my diabetes, and replaces sugar in the apple mix with sultanas (healthier sugar content) and a bit of extra cinammon for the most part. I find that it's not as sweet as other apple crumbles.

I have 14 pounds of apples that I have been trying figure out what to do with besides chunky apple sauce.

Pork & Apple Pie sounds yummy especially since there is a pork loin in the freezer.

And I'll be making an apple/dried pear crisp if I can find my Moosewood cookbook.
