Why is it snowing!? On April 8th!?

I am perpetually checking weather.com regarding Friday's weather because I have a 4:45pm flight to Vegas (wahoo!) out of JFK. I haven't flown since I was 12 and I believe that was a nice day to be up in the air. Friday currently shows some nasty business, on to the question ( Read more... )

one thing I love about the first warm spell after a freezing cold winter...

the sunny skies.
the warmth.
not wearing a heavy coat.
flip flops just for one day.

and the....*sniff*....fresh(?)...*sniff*...spring like...*sniff* air....?

which smells like the past three months worth of garbage and dog poo defrosting all at once.

I moved here from sunny, warm Florida a few months ago. This may have been a stupid decision, as I am now freezing and dying on a daily basis. I've been to New York in January, so I knew it would be freezing, but nothing really prepares you for a prolonged period of cold, or for the slippery gray slush caking the sidewalks. Ok, to me, that doesn't sound like thunder, that sounds like footsteps.  That is a freaky sound to wake up to.

i can't turn on my tv (sleeping bear in apt), and i can't find anywhere if staten island chuck saw his shadow or not this morning!

anyone know?

 Anyone else feel like the weather report for this morning should be "Stay in bed"?
