Well, this sort of petered out.

Is today Bucky's 100th birthday? I thought it was in May -- it's possible I'm mixing him up with Harry Percy, which... well, you know.

It always irks me when I go quiet, and it definitely irks me to be like, "Hey, sorry I haven't been here, lol!" (The worst is "I keep forgetting I have this thing!" But I am easily aggravated about dumb stuff.) I have been dealing with some cresting overwhelm, and have done my best to just focus on nice and constructive things for a while. Looks like my girl K is coming to visit from Chicago in about two weeks, which is making me so happy on multiple levels. I'll also be going back in April for a bar mitzvah, and I'm planning on coming early, staying later or both if I can.

Focusing on other things means drawing more, for one. I got this new set of pens that I'm really, really enjoying; here's one comic where I tried to do a lot with backgrounds and filling up as much of the panel as made sense. Here's a character design for myself that's looking much more like me (figuring out how to accurately render my particular texture of curly hair helps a lot). Last night I hung out with my friend H; she came over late and then we drank wine, talked and watched S2 of The Magicians until after midnight, which was A++. (I do not feel like doing very much of anything today, aside from trying to make this and maybe attempting crusty bread without going totally over the top on everything else. [Oh, hmm, or maybe this recipe? I do want to knead...] Wait to see if you like making bread before you buy a pizza stone, Esther!)

It was sideways-snowing as well as snowing up for most of this morning, but now it's sunny. March!!
