ONE. MORE. WEEK.

Whatever else is happening, at least I have my NaNo summary together!March 1947. Journalist Laura Fielding arrives on the migratory island of Brimir ahead of a summit set to finalize the Americans' Marshall Plan for recovery in postwar Europe. Her assignment is to profile the closed-off nation for general readers, which was neutral during the Second World War.

Brimirese photographer Joe Raines left home to fight for the Allies with the British, but he's not allowed to talk about it, collect benefits or acknowledge his participation. He's been commissioned to act as Laura's handler and to supplement her reporting with portraits and images. Together, they begin sniffing out a real bombshell story -- even if it could endanger the postwar peace.
Just scrolling around through
radio-ink is nice, to get me back in the headspace of the story.

Other news: keep your fingers crossed on a thing I kinda sorta pitched to a dream publication. I will also probably be filing a claim in small claims court tomorrow, after calling up the friendly folks at Monday Night Law. Also keep your fingers crossed! I finally started watching this season of Jane the Virgin, and one episode in, I still love everyone and everything. I finished up S2 of Chuck last night before Netflix yanked it, and am also remembering, with love, how good that show could be.

Goal: not to take another late-afternoon nap, even if it's really nice. (Other goal: stop gorging on mellowcreme pumpkins, which remain delicious and great.)
