I do not know why cover letters can be so all-consuming and nerve-wracking. I mean, I do -- you're so exquisitely aware that this is your first impression and maybe your only shot at slipping in through the door, on your way to some could-be-excruciating hoop-jumping, which could lead to any number of good or bad outcomes. Anyway, I wrote up two entirely separate cover letters and clips lists for two jobs at the same damn company, so I got myself delivery sushi and watched two episodes of the Michael Pollan Netflix documentary series, Cooked. (He lives exactly the kind of life I would expect him to, it turns out!)
Note: Neither of the jobs I applied for were, inexplicably, being
the Dogist's assistant.
Maybe tomorrow will be the day my migratory to-do list items will come back from the war get done.
