The short version is I had a really, really bad day yesterday. Some of you said some wonderful, no-bullshit things that I am processing and very much taking to heart; thank you. I do not have the energy to respond individually like I want right now, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
Right now I just want to share some nice things.
ShishLOOKdesign is full of truly darling felted creatures, including sloth brooches. Were you waiting until this moment in time to realize that sloth brooches were a thing you needed in your life? I think we all were.
kimslittlemonsters's comfort boxes are a conceit and a format that really speaks to me. One of my hopes for making more paper mache stuff is to make tiny dioramas for people -- I've loved doing that since I was in elementary school.
navekadesigns has a bunch of nerdy necklaces that I think will speak to a lot of us, including Hawkguy stuff (coffee mug!), ATLA stuff, Pacific Rim stuff and even Cabin Pressure stuff. (There was a Carol Danvers necklace when I checked the other day; it might come back into stock after the weekend, nb.)
NPR has a neat breakdown of how the cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Chollie and the Infinite Sadness came together.
I actually really enjoyed this brief explainer on why we don't eat rabbits.
moetushie has some great classic Hollywood icons (you heard me, the 100x100!).
The Moth-approved storytelling champ Margot Leitman writes about six rules for great storytelling.
Here, have some audio of the Epic of Gilgamesh in spoken Akkadian. It's amazing how familiar it sounds to me, having grown up around Hebrew.
booksbornon chronicles all the books that started off as someone's Tumblr account, which I find reassuring in some way.
Longreads put together a reading list on the crossroads of the secular and the spiritual.
I'm making red lentil and carrot soup in the crock pot for tonight, with some modifications. Ask me later how it turns out.
