This is so much better than homework, guys. And it automatically means that the homework goes away, right?

Guys?

For
ceitfianna, The Hollow Crown RPF, Joe/Michelle, out of time, which... I completely missed as a non-time-traveling prompt-It's happened enough that they know how to prolong it now: when the world slips sideways, when the castle isn't a set, when servants and maids pass them in the corridors, they play along, keeping up the accents, twining their hands together, pressing each other against walls and into nooks. Kate, oh Kate, Joe moans against her mouth, and Michelle rakes his hair, gasping Harry, there, Harry. No cigarettes, no cars outside the window, no lights browning the black sky, and they carry that with them when they slip back.

At a Starbucks in Tottenham, she sneaks her hand into his. How now, my lady? he murmurs, and for an instant she smells leather and hounds and spice.

For
hannah, some prose about werewolf genetics!

For
skygiants, Much Ado About Nothing, Beatrice/Benedick, fighting crime-Beatrice opts for practicality: thick, flat shoes, dark colors, waterproof leather, plans of attack, silence.

It is Benedick who insists on the Spandex, and the gadgets, and the theatrics involving the Prince of Police.

Beatrice digs her elbow into the unarmored belly of his suit; Benedick announces he'll not block bullets next time, since she little appreciates the fabric.

For
likeadeuce, Kate/Hotspur, modern cop AU-Harry makes a noise low in his throat, resting both hands at the top of her hips. "My guv'nor may not think much of that kind of rule-breaking."

Kate tugs his tie, tugs him closer. "Stop talking about me like I'm not here."

"Yes, ma'am," he says, or he does until she cuts him off.

For
walksbyherself, Macbeth, Southern Gothic AU-She never wore gloves, nor those fancy straw hats, but she was never so high in society as they were now.

He watches her itching her palms when no one else is looking. Poison ivy, she murmurs. It got me in the kudzu.

It's not your job to cut it down, he tells her.

We have the same job, she says, and only her red lips aren't cross-hatched with shadows.

For
samskeyti, The Hour, Lix and Randall-Even Madrid she recalls with perfect calm. The bombs, the gunfire, the bodies in the streets, she knew where to be, and how to be, and what she had to do.

She once found Randall typing up another reporter's notes; the reporter was vomiting into the waste bin. "They've cut the wires at Carabanchel," she said as she passed.

Thank goodness they had each other -- thank goodness when the rest of them got back to their feet, she and he could fall to pieces together.

For
moetushie, Macbeth, Motown AU-He picked her out from the line before he'd ever had his name in lights. She'd done some session work with some Brits, but that wasn't for her, that was for money. He had some friends, got hold of the tape, listened to that voice that could blister steel. "You're no backup singer," he told her when he found her again, under a blue light at a bar on Grand Boulevard.

When she smiled at him, cigarette and cat's-eye tips and sequined dress shifting, oh he knew they were made for harmonies.
With apologies (or thanks) to Merry Clayton.

For
olorisstra, Much Ado, The Prince-It's certain that he loved them both: he raised the glass at their wedding, and took but one dance with the bride. That he was the last of their company unmarried (save, of course, for the villainous Don John) had not gone unremarked, but he professed himself content to one and all, and few asked.

Yet happy as the match was, and delirious as Benedick rambled, and radiant as Beatrice raced her wit, still the Prince watched -- though he told himself to feel shame for it -- for some (one) trifling regretful glance.

For
ravurian, werewolves and The Hour.

Thanks so much for the prompts, all! <333333333

(P.S. If you like wolves and Slings & Arrows, you should read The tameness of a wolf by
Petra. Trust me, it's excellent.)
