Hey!
I think you probably saw this coming. So in honor of the fallen King of Pop, Throwback Thursday is dedicated to Michael Jackson.
Since everyone knows about him, I'll give you a little blurb about my history with his music. First of all, Billie Jean has been my ringtone on my phone since I bought it. It's pretty much one of my all-time favorite songs. It's the ringtone for whenever my mother calls me. Michael's music was a mother-daughter thing in my household, playing his album, Thriller, while out on the yard, summer days where surrounded by his vocals. He was such a staple to my childhood and knowing that he will never create more music is sad. As awkward and shady his later years were, in his prime, he was simply the man. He has influenced so much music and influenced so many of my memories, it's shocking that it has come to a standstill. I have been playing his music all evening, dancing to my favorite and thinking about all the moments that associate with each song. It's been quite the evening, fielding calls from friends and family alike. It's a time a mourning but also a time of celebration of a man that had his skeletons, but was beloved by his fans, who I think got the best part of him. Your talent will be missed.
This is a music blog. So if you like to discuss Michael's music, go right ahead. But keep your opinions on his personal life to yourself.
Only music comments please.
