Well, summer is officially here, but I think I'm going to be stuck inside for a while, since I've got to clean up the mess that all my pre-Costume Con sewing projects made! I promised myself no more new sewing projects until I at least get my room straightened out, but it's SO hard to stop myself, since at Costume Con I bought a slew of really awesome patterns from Truly Victorian and Reconstructing History, plus I got the reed for my 18th century stays. I'm so crazy excited about making corsets and bustles and all the historical undergarments I've always wanted but been too afraid to attempt before now! There's something about seeing other people wearing that stuff that makes you totally forget all your anxieties and just say to yourself: "I want that too!" So hopefully soon! But I also want to get back to writing! Ack! So many projects, so little time! ;D
Also, I'm hugely miffed that there was no new Doctor Who episode over the Memorial Day weekend! They're already ahead of us in the UK! Why can't we have it here? No fair! Now that it's good again, I'm totally addicted again. I haven't felt the need for a Doctor Who icon since the first season, but this new season definitely merits iconing! I LOVE the new Doctor, he's so geeky! It's great! And Amy is a great companion, even the usually annoying boyfriend is a likeable character. The Eleventh Hour absolutely blew me away with it's awesomeness. The next couple episodes fell a little short of that (when they where writing 'The Beast Below', didn't anyone think to themselves, "won't this seem a bit too reminiscent of 'Encounter at Farpoint'?" Don't tell me they've never seen Star Trek!) but in general, it's been good old fashioned romping fun, which is what DW is supposed to be. Can't wait for more! Gimme gimme! :D
