Hey Paul! I got a Wii today. I got Zelda and TH Downhill Jam. I have a target card worth 1 more game...what game should I buy? Is Madden good? How about super monkey ball? What other fun stuff should I be doing with it?

Red Steel is not only fun, but fun for the multiplayer. I mean, its like a classic bond minus the proximity mines.

As for Rayman, I got bored and beat it in under 2 days with a friend. I'm hoping that monkey ball will be better though.

As far as Zelda goes:
No, A does dash, you need to swing the remote to attack regularly.

Again, I refute that by not buying the guide to Zelda, that its not that you won't be able to beat the game, but rather that you'll be able to complete the game 100% if you're one of those people. I didn't use to be, but now that I have all but one heart container (I'm just shy of getting the first mirror piece) it's aggravating as all get out.

Also, Paul, did you ever get the Gereudo Mesa entrance to show? I can warp the bridge, but I don't know where to. I realize its the west bridge off the castle, but there isn't a close warp point. Or is there? Let me know.

Are you aware of a thing called the internet? They have a lovely way to search for things like game guides.

Try this, its free http://guides.ign.com/guides/748589/

Red Steel's controls seem odd and unresponsive to me. Plus, the sword fighting is a huge, huge, HUGE disappointment ( ... )

yeah, I figured out the A + Z attack thing...but I'm thinking it's bugged or something. I'm in the sewers just after you escape from the cell, and I've died probably 10 times now due to not being able to attack. I'll hit Z and lock onto them, but then A does absolutely nothing. I'll keep hitting both buttons...no response. I'll shake the controller, which also does an attack while out of combat, but it does nothing while IN combat.

It's getting pretty frustrating, I've restarted this area so many times now and keep dying helplessly.

If you're in water, you can't attack until later in the game. stay in very shallow water, like on the semi flooded sides of the sewers. Also, you can't always do a throat bite on every enemy. Generally, just Z-target them and swing the remote to attack as normal unless you want to jump attack. Then, its Z-target, and then hit a. Not simultaneously.

No, i was talking about that. But I just hope that they can move the bridge when I donate 1000 rupees. Also, have you explored the castle village yet? The star game, gives you a better quiver 1st time with 1 clawshot and second time later with dual clawshots, and the Aigitha woman, will give you an upgraded wallet after showing her just one bug, and give you the second upgraded wallet after collecting all 24 bugs. Do you know what happens when you pay the priest 1000 just inside the east entrance to the castle village? I think something happens. The fortune teller does something when you question her about your love life fortune.

Also, the guide I got, tells me a lot about the game, but I still find a ton of stuff on my own that it DOESN'T talk about. Like how to get the treasure chest right above the entrance to death mountain, or the treasure chest thats on the island in hyrule field. I imagine dual clawshots for the island but i don't know how to get the one in keirko village.

Yes, I've played the star game with hookshots and have given bug girl bugs. I figured it all out on my own, making it fun and seem like I've accomplished things on my own. Don't need a guide to help me find things in a game.

Yeah, I beat the game, I don't know, kind of blahish. And it pisses me off that I couldn't keep playing after the kingdom was saved. I had all but 3 hearts when fighting the end boss, and the hardest part was timing the swing back at him when he threw the energy balls at me. And no, I didn't read the strat guide all that much when I got to the temples, just for the odd stuff, like how to catch a hylian loach. Which, I have, but only a baby one.
