Though the drive to Haven was an easy one, and a pleasant one, thanks to the company, Kayla was more than happy to pass a sign that read Welcome to Haven , Illinois - A Touch of City in the Country. She giggled when Xander snapped off

Violet had been riding her motorcycle for a couple of hours. She had rode out of Bushvale on a “borrowed” motorcycle, with only a back pack of foods, and her cd walkman and three cd’s and a bottle of water and saddle bags with clothes in it. Who knew what she may find in Haven. She just thought that maybe, just maybe there would be more people there. She had left nearly everything behind in Bushvale.

She saw the “Welcome to Haven , Illinois - A Touch of City in the Country” sign, and she couldn’t hide the grin.

As She drove into town, she stopped a couple of blocks from where she saw a group of people gathered around a house. She wondered if she should say anything. She chose to stand there,and watch, to see if anyone noticed her. A loner by habit and need, she didn’t want to draw attention, unless someone noticed her. She saw men, women and kids and she almost smiled.

Maybe, just maybe, she could finally find a family of her own to take care of. For now, she would watch, unless someone spoke to her

Michelle was taking up the rear as everyone began filtering into the house. She'd played grab-ass with Jason, but turned at the last minute to take a last look around. And a good thing too.

There was a young brunette on a motorcycle watching them from a couple of blocks away. Michelle observed her for a moment, then walked back down the steps from the front porch. She waved a greeting, then began walking toward the stranger wondering if the woman would flee if approached.

Only one way to find out. Michelle continued her steady approach.

Violet saw the woman coming close to her, and she looked at her. She had seen the ass grabbing, and Violet assumed that she was his girl. She did take a step back, but she didn’t take a step forward either. Her hands on her hips. She looked younger then her 26 years. Her eyes were dark, haunted and Lack of sleep was showing though the clearly tough girl act. Her hair was longish , brown, and dirty. She was afraid, but she refused to let any one know that. Part of her wanted to run, another simply hoped that maybe, here she could have friends, and a life all her own. Maybe now she could sleep with out seeing Angela’s eyes, without the haunting memories of her life in Los Angeles. Who knew maybe She could simply be. But now, she had to survive the next ten minutes.

Michelle approached to speaking distance, but stopped out of arm's reach. The young woman seemed drawn and more than a little skittish. She got no reaction to the woman, so she was probably about as young as she looked. More to the point, she wasn't likely to be after Michelle's head.

"Hello," Michelle said. "Welcome to Haven, Illinois. I'm Michelle Webster. I live in that house back there," she added, pointing at the huge old Victorian behind her. "Along with several other people."

"We've also just met two other groups. We were expecting one group, but not the other. You're welcome to join us, if you like. We promise not to bite."

Michelle grinned mischeviously. "Well, you know, unless you like that sort of thing."

Violet cocked her head to one side. She took a deep calming breath before she spoke. "I'm Violet. You can call me Vi for short. How are all those people gonna stay inthat one house? Seems to be very crowded." Violet said, still looking at the girl.

"That's a good question, actually, Vi," Michelle said. "I'm not sure anyone has thought about that. We weren't expecting all of you. Still, depending on how cozy everyone is willing to sleep, we could manage it."

"And after all, if there isn't room enough for everyone, we can spread out into the neighboring houses. It's not like they're occupied. So...would you like to come inside and meet everyone?"

She looked at Michelle, and nodded her head.
" yes, please", Violet said, as she wonder how all these people would react to her.
