There is one error in AC that always gets to me...

To me, the largest plothole in Advent Children is Yazoo and Loz attacking Cloud near the end. There really is no reason beyond the need for drama to have them there. Furthermore, there doens't seem to be a way to make it work logistically. According to the AC timeline provided in the Reunion Files, it was around 5PM when they were blown up by the Turks. It takes Cloud and Kadaj another full hour to reach the outskirts of the Shinra Building - part of that time being their fight up and around it's facade until the battle with Sephiroth begins at 6PM.

Now, here's where the calculation gets tricky because of how little movie time and real time correlate with other. For example, the scene in Edge from Loz and Yazoo taking their place at the monument until Bahamut is defeated takes about 30 minutes real time but 5 hours within the world of the movie. On that timescale, the 6 minute real time fight we see with Sephiroth would take a full hour for the characters in the movie.

Either way, it seems to me that it would be very difficult for the weaken Loz and Yazoo to make their way up the 70 some-odd stories to where Cloud was at the end of the fight and that's even without taking into consideration the sizable fire caused at the base of the tower by the flaming portions of the infastructure Sephiroth cut off.

So, really, I would love it if someone could explain to me how that scene is even possible....

(BTW, if anyone wants me to post my AC timelines - I have list-style one based on a WIP version printed in the Reunion Files as well as a paragraph based on for the final cut of the film - I'd be more than happy to.)

Lol, now that you mention it...how is that possible? I agree 100% with what you said.

But I can still try my very best to make sense out of it all. One of our members came up with a pretty interesting theory. She was saying that The Turks killed Yazoo and Loz in the explosion, and where then sent to the Lifestream. In the Lifestream, Yazoo and Loz encountered Sephiroth and was absorbed by him. When Kadaj absorbed the Jenova cells, Sephiroth returned, with all three SHM within him. But when Sephiroth was defeated, Yazoo, Loz and Kadaj split back into 3 separate beings, hence the reason why all three of them where at the scene.

I think her theory makes allot of sense, but it can still be questioned. Nevertheless, I agree that it's very unlikely for Yazoo and Loz to get to the battlefield, on foot, in their condition. Like you said, it doesn't add up.

Ah, now that is a pretty good theory. But to me, it would be more due to the Jenova-infected Lifestream storm carrying them there than being a part of Sephiroth. (Though, really those two things are not mutally exclusive.)

The only problem with that theory is the materia in their arms. When heavily-mako enfused beings die, they will leave behind any material they've absorbed. (This comes from Vice's death in Dirge of Cerberus. You can see the materia implanted in his body being left behind after he dies - Spoiler, highlight to read.)

And yah, I'll get on putting together one big timeline from my two versions.

Hey thanks for pointing that out. You are correct; the materia in their arms would have disappeared if they truly died. So perhaps it was the Jenova-infected Lifestream that was responsible. Very good point, indeed. :D

Oh and I would love to see the AC timelines you speak of. That would be very awesome if you posted that! :D

maybe it's that insane jumping thing that most of the characters seem to have going on. Either gravity is VERY weak, or they all have very STRONG legs.

In one of the interviews, they said they wanted to make thier own physics for the world. *shrug* so maybe they just jumped several stories at a time?
