A Few FF7 Errors

Before I start this entry I would first like to welcome the new members to the community. Thank you so much for joining. Tom and I would also like to thank ALL members for their contributions and taking the time to keep new_shinra87 very active. I'm amazed how it’s grown within the year, and hopefully it shall continue. With all of that said, let's get into today's topic. :D

Today I decided to post an entry based on a few of the errors/mysteries of Final Fantasy 7. I won't be surprised if many of you have already noticed the two errors I picked up a little while ago. The first is regarding the Sister Ray, you know when it's moved to Midgar. When the Sister Ray is fired from Shin-Ra HQ, the beam goes right through Diamond Weapon and makes it' way to the Northern Crater. Seconds later, the beam destroys the barrier over the Northern Crater. Here is where the error kicks in. If you fly (in the Highwind) from the cannon in a straight path toward the Northern Crater, you should notice that the beam would have actually miss the crater by a number of degrees. Is that weird or what?

This next error took me quite a while to pick up. Then again, I think it's really an allusion, then it is an error, but I digress. Any of you recall Aerith's burial in the water? Well it seems to be that the actual depth of the water changes throughout the scene. In the game, Cloud walks into the water (with Aerith's body in his arms) as if it's very shallow, and makes his way to the very middle of the pond. When he gets to the middle, it appears as though he is actually standing. But when He lets her body go, the camera changes angles and reveals that the pond is actually very deep. So how in the world did Cloud manage to walk in such deep water while holding Aerith? It totally goes against the laws of psychics.

A very similar thing happens in Advent Children. Kadaj walks into the middle of the pond as if it's very shallow. After he contaminates the water, the kids end up walking into the middle (although some remain near the edge of the land) of the pond, just like Kadaj and Cloud did. The movie clearly shows them as standing, not swimming above surface. Later on Cloud's cell phone drops into the water, and once again, the camera shows us how deep the water really is.

So yeah, that's all I really had to talk about for today. I know it isn't much, but I felt these errors needed to be posted. With all of that said, what do you think? And if you noticed any more errors regarding Final Fantasy 7, feel free to share those as well. :)
