I to have always wondered about the water issue. I used to assume that Cloud was just standing on a raised area of land...like a sandbar (is that what they call them?) that extended from one edge towards the middle and that he just released Aeris over the edge. As far as Advent Children with Kadaj and the children walking into it...well, that I do not know how to explain. It is interesting indeed.

Do you think perhaps the whole thing about Aerith and everything is more symbolic, and the phone as well? I was thinking maybe Square did it purposely to give the idea that she would end up very far away from them in the end...

Yesnomaybe?

Hey that is a very clever way of looking at it. The way the cell phone sank, indicating she's gone far away, very cool, indeed. Now that you mention it, Advent Children is full of symbolism. Rufus being cured of Geostigma, and made a very good psychical recovery indicates to me that he has been forgiven by the planet. Oh and one of our members clocksareevil mentioned that Aerith walking out of the church is a symbol for Cloud finally letting her go. So yeah, FF7 is full of symbolism. :D

The only issue I have with the phone scene is that it was given a very weird timestamp in the AC timeline - 3:30 AM on the second day. However, Cloud loses the phone at 9:30 PM on the first day meaning that if the timeline is correct, that phone had been falling for 6 hours....

Obviously, it is far more important for it's symbolic weight, but you have to question logistics like that, don't you?

Now that's a pain. XD Trying to work around that. You know, I seriously think Square purposely makes convoluted timelines just so we can go "wtf? >:o"

By the way, nice icon. D: phone!angst

Sometimes I honestly think that they enjoy messing with us like that. *sighs* And that isn't the only timeline problem in AC *points down to long comment below*

Thanks! It was made by xylish and I just had to have it.

Here is something my friend pointed out. In one scene, Aerith says "You came! ...Even though you're about to break, hmm? [ She places her hand on his arm ] That's a good sign. So, why did you come?" So in this scene Aerith questions Cloud's presence.

However, in another scene she says "I never blamed you. Not once. You came for me. That's all that matters." Now it’s important to note she is now saying it doesn't really matter why Cloud came, the fact that he showed up is what matters most.

My friend would like to know why Aerith even ask Cloud in the first place, why he is there, if the answer isn't important? Lol. Pretty interesting, huh? :P

Yeah, a sandbar is the right word for it. And I pretty much assumed the same thing, really. At first, my friend thought it could have been a materia they both equipped, then again...the kids in AC didn't have any materia, yet they were still able to pull it off, lol. It really does make you wonder. :)
