Cross-Game Battle Royale!

A couple of months back, I found this fic, a FF7/FF8 crossover. Now, normally, I'm not for crossovers, but this was obviously thought through and considered on both sides. And it's . . . beautiful. Anyway. The point of this is, I was thinking-and prompted by one such instance-about who would win in certain fights ( Read more... )

vincent, irvine, squall, ff8, battles, seifer, zell, selphie, ff7, opinion, debate, quistis, cloud

1. Tifa x Zell: I say Tifa without even a second thought. Zell could pack a punch (hardy har har) but I think Tifa is far more intelligent and would thus actually think things through instead of just throwing kicks and punches. Plus, while Zell's size would lend more to strength, Tifa's lends more to agility. I mean...she could dodge Sephiroth in KHII, I'd say she could dodge Zell :p Winner: Tifa

2. Cloud x Squall: Miguel is right we did have this debate awhile back...I think Cloud...even though at first glance it seems the size differences in their swords would give Squall the advantage, Cloud is well trained in the use of a buster sword and as his primary weapon has learned the ins and outs of weilding it to the point where its size probably does not affect him at all. If Squall got in one of his more powerful LBs then he would have the edge, but I think Cloud would figure out a way to work around those. Winner: Cloud

3. Vincent x Irvine: I'm not gonna lie, I'm totally biased in this...but Vincent. More powerful, genetically enhanced, and he can turn into monsters. Winner: Vincent

4. Cid x Squall: I love Cid endlessly, but I have to give this one to Squall. Squall is physically stronger and has better limit breaks. And not smoking would probably give him an edge in endurance :p Winner: Squall

5. Vincent x Seifer: Hmm very tough. I think it could go either way, but if Vincent pulled a LB Seifer would be toast. Honestly I think Vincent's LBs just make him win over everything. I think he could faily easily evade Seifer's attacks, and his magic is definitely much higher so his healing would be stronger even if he did not use magic attacks. Winner: Vincent

6. Cloud x Zell: Gotta give another to Cloud...for much of the same reason Zell lost the first time. I think where Tifa may have won due to intelligence that Cloud would win for patience...instead of swinging right in and attacking I think he would calculate weaknesses and note Zell's attack pattern...and if Cloud got in an omnislash, Zell would be gone Winner: Cloud

7. Tifa x Selphie: If Selphie was able to cast The End, of course she would win over everybody. However I think Tifa's physical strength, LBs, and and agility would trump Selphie...even though Tifa's HP goes down, and Selphie can LB a Full Cure on herself, I think once Tifa got going Selphie wouldn't have a chance to bounce back. Winner: Tifa

8. Cid x Quistis: Hmm...I would never underestimate Cid's strength...but I must agree with you-their weapons kind of give the advantage to Quistis. And I think her blue magic may be able to do more damage than Cid's LBsWinner: Quistis

9. Cloud x Seifer: I must agree on the line of 'this is much like the Cloud x Squall' match...so my answer will stay the same. Though I think Seifer would have a better chance than Squall, because Seifer would be more inclined to fight dirty. But overall, I think Cloud's strength would claim a victory. Winner: Cloud

10. Cloud x Irvine: Irvine may be long distance, but Cloud has more strength and HP and more powerful LBs...Irvine's biggest advantage would be GFs, but Cloud has KotR which could take out any GF leaving Irvine helpless. Winner: Cloud

11. Tifa x Quistis: Very tough, but in this case Tifa is stronger and has the better LBs-I think that even properly junctioned Quistis wouldn't have a huge HP advantage and Tifa has better magic for healing. Winner: Tifa

12. Vincent x Selphie: Somehow the thought of Selphie fighting Vincent just gave me all kind of crossover plot bunnies. But anyhow, Selphie is not a very strong character without her LBs, and as with before, unless she would manage a 'The End' early on she has very little working to her advantage outside of GFs-Vincent is stronger, has *much* higher magic, and, once again, can transform into monsters. Winner: Vincent

13. Vincent x Rinoa: I think a Rinoa junctioned so that the only offensive magic she had in her inventory were ridiculously strong spells like Flare and Ultima, and if she Angel Winged immediately, that she could put up a fair fight...however that takes away her ability to heal. And without Angel Wing she doesn't hold an advantage over Vincent in anything except Summoning--but again if you want to play the Summon game, Vincent has KotR. Though a fun fight would be the above mentioned Angel Winged Rinoa and Chaos...since neither would be able to heal. I still think that in strength and HP however that Vincent would triumph. Winner: Vincent

What a fun topic! It would be fun to do a cross for all FF games...like have all gun weilders fight each other, all swordsmen, dragoons, mages, and summoners...and then the winner of those categories fight the winner from the others to see who we think would be the winner of all FF games :)

What, an all out FF-tournament? That would be very, very fun. I know GameFAQs does a character battle/series battle/game battle whatnot but it would still be interesting.

Hey that's a pretty cool idea you have there. A Final Fantasy tournament would be so interesting. Great idea! :D

I think Ultimecia V.S. Sephiroth would be a very awesome match. I know Ultimecia is stronger in the magic department, while Sephiroth is stronger in the strength one. But who would win? Ultimecia would probably send Sephiroth throughout time or something like that. However, Sephiroth's will prevents him from dying so easily. He just never gives up, lol. Deciding a possible winner for this match is tricky, lol.
