Favorite Final Fantasy Antagonist

In your eyes who is the best Final Fantasy antagonist? My friend was telling me that Sephiroth was recognized as the best Final Fantasy villain thus far. I don't blame people for considering him the best. He is very powerful and skilled with a sword, has a very interesting history and his motives are simply outrageous, yet deep. But is mere strength the most important characteristic of a villain? Not in my opinion. In my eyes, a good villain should be strong, but should also have the ability to manipulate verbally. As discussed in the last post, Sephiroth was proved to be very manipulative...but his ability to control wasn't mostly based on words. Sephiroth's grip on Cloud was mainly influenced by the Jenova cells within him and Cloud's temporary memory loss. Then again, a fighter like Sephiroth wouldn't need the ability to manipulate those around him, although it would have been nice.

Rufus Shinra is my all time favorite Final Fantasy character. He would pretty much suit the expectations of a great antagonist. He has awesome fighting/gun-slinger skills and very manipulative. However, after watching Advent Children, I don't like to consider him a villain anymore. Then again, I never thought of Rufus as a villain, more as an anti-hero, seeing as how he took up the role of protecting the people from their fear in the ending of the game. Of course, everybody else has the right to think of him in their own way.

Seymour from Final Fantasy X seems to be the best Final Fantasy villain in my point of view. Not only was he very skilled at summons and magic, with each battle...his strength increased dramatically. Nevertheless, I didn't admire Seymour for his strength alone. It was mainly because of his ability to manipulate everybody around him, making majority of Spira think Tidus and his friends were the criminals. Can you recall how many towns Seymour got you kicked out off? Lol. It was simply unreal. And every time somebody, other then Tidus and company, discovered the truth about Seymour, he would then absorb their power and become even stronger. Although Seymour lost, he still ended up back in his position as Mayster and had Spira wrapped around his finger, just keeping them all around to increase his power. So yeah, that's why I like Seymour; he's very manipulative, powerful and waits for the right moment to strike. Sephiroth is a bit to wild in my opinion, nevertheless…very awesome.

So with all that said, who would you consider the best Final Fantasy villain of all time? If you can not chose your opinion of the best, then perhaps your favorite would be an easier choice. :)
