I was on wikipedia late at night as well. I was reading and fixing up the Rufus Shinra article. I hope you are feeling well rested today. :)
Woah, that is one awesome theory and I love the thought of it! If that was the case, then it's no wonder Cloud suffered so bad. I wonder what made him so negative anyway. I remember Cloud's mother was trying to tell him to settle down, but he wasn't interested. So I guess Cloud has been that way since he was a kid. Now I can see why he and Zack became close friends. Cloud needed a friend like Zack (always looking of the brightside) to bring out the best in him.
Yeah, all that doubt about his life and what not must have given Jenova the advantage of him. That's also another debate topic that has yet to be posted here, who was controlling the shots in FF7, Jenova or Sephiroth. I guess it was a combination of the both.
I really like the way you describe Cloud's strength and how it's from within instead of from the Jenova cells. This is the first time I've heard of it thought that way. I suppose Cloud's strength did build up from the determination of protecting the ones her cares about. It’s a very nice idea, indeed. ;)
That's why I really like Rufus Shinra and the Turks, they don't need performance enhancers to fight, and they use their own strength to win. :)
