So yeah today is my birthday, and I’m on my way to a dinner party with my family. Nevertheless, I decided to do a quick update, seeing as how I love this community and the loyal and awesome members within it. I won’t be able to reply to your comments tonight, but defiantly tomorrow morning. Oh and don’t worry

I had been under the impression that Heidegger had been very eager for power and was perhaps power mongering for a higher positon. Say perhaps VP or something.
I find it strange that there was NOT ONE MENTION of Rufus until after Shin-ra was killed by apparaently Sephiroth, according to Palmer who is the only suriving eye-witness.
When he was VP, what were his duties other than waiting for his father to die so that he can take over?
Anywho, when Rufus was presumed dead... Heidgger saw his chance and made very aggressive moves to take over and he had the support of Scarlet. Perhaps Scarlet was wanting more power too but was willing to let Heidgger get it first then wait to see what the consiquences were before taking steps to get it away from him and keep it all to herself. But that is for another debate, methinks.
But yes, I do belive that Heidgger did try to take over Shin-ra and took advantage of every oppertunity. However, if you noticed from some of the cold-hearted things he said to Reeve, espically telling him to 'flush his personal problems down the toliet or go home' when they were talking about the sector 7 plate, I'm guessing that Heidgger got NO SUPPORT whatsoever from the Turks.
It seems that the Turks are far more loyal to Rufus and would rather do EVERYTHING that they can to ensure Rufus' surival or else have to serve Heidgger as 'president' and I can easily imagine several of the Turks cringe under their skin with that mere thought.
Just a thought. I'm posting in my LJ now ^^;

That’s a good question about what Rufus’ job was as the VP. I believe he just did endless amounts of paperwork in Junon. Rumor has it that Rufus in BC was secretly supplying information and funds to the original Avalanche group as an “anonymous benefit.” Apparently he was encouraging them to kill his old man so he can become president. This was when he was 18 as well, lol. Of course this plan failed, although Rufus continued scheming.
I liked how you mentioned about Scarlet allowing Heidegger to take control because he was a bit skittish of the consequences. That was very well said, and I do agree that’s another debate topic.
I must admit that I love how loyal the Turks are to Rufus. In AC, I think they all stopped looking at each other as just partners at work, but more as friends. I mean Tseng and the others could have left Rufus all alone, but they stuck by him. I find that to be awesome.
Oh and look out for my next entry about Rufus’ health in AC. You know about the wheelchair and what not. I have a whole new view on the issue. I think you will like what I’ve got to say about it. It should be up either tomorrow, or the day after. I can’t wait to see the responses. :D
