What I’m about to discuss today will be something I never thought I’d be talking about, lol. But what the heck, I’ll go for it. Have any of you heard a song on the radio or on a CD that happens to remind you of a Final Fantasy character? Lol. I know how foolish it sounds, but it just happened to me today, actually. I’m sure we all know that song from the “Starting Line” known as “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now!” Well it’s a certain line within that song that reminded me of Seifer and his role as a Sorceress Knight. Keep in mind in my case, the entire song doesn’t resemble Seifer, but I feel that this particular line is pretty close. The line is below.
“And we can build this thing together, stand in stone forever, nothing's gonna stop us now.”
To me, that has Seifer written all over it. I’m sure there are plenty of other examples of songs that just happen to remind you of a Final Fantasy character. I tried thinking of one that can relate to Rufus Shinra, but I haven’t had any luck. But the song “Uptown Girl” from “Billy Joel” reminds me of Selphie quite a bit. I can only imagine your expression right now, lol. But can you blame me? Selphie did sing that catchy train song, not to mention her personality reminds me of the attitude of the girl Billy Joel is singing about.
Sorry if this topic isn’t all that great. I’ll have a better one next time. ;)
- Look closely, as Cloud rides to Rufus’ Healing Lodge; you can see other Lodges among the mountains. This might mean that Rufus does personally own the one he was in. (Was I the only one who missed that?)
- When Kadaj lands on the ground after he catches Jenova’s box from his fall with Rufus, watch Reno! He knocks over Rude again! Lol, he makes me laugh.
- There was not one eating/drinking scene in this movie. :S
- When Kadaj is kneeling down in front of Rufus, and the building starts to shake, it seems as though Rufus’ Geostigma was flaring up…compliments of Kadaj. I say this because of the look of discomfort on Rufus’ face.
- Geostigma seems to only effect the youth, and not older people.
- When Reno and Rude confront Yazoo and Loz in front of the meteor statue, Reno is in his battle stance he used in the game.
- Loz is very similar to FF8’s Zell. They have a very similar smile, childish personality, weird hairstyle and same fighting style.
- It looks like Rude might still have a crush on Tiffa. If you look closely, Reno and Rude are seeing playing around in the background while Tiffa and Cloud talk on the bed. Friends tend to do this when the other is afraid or to shy to make a move.
- They say Kadaj never noticed the hole in the box made by Rufus, but I’d say he obviously knew, seeing as how he was looking right at it when it happened. I assumed he freaked out when he looked at it again because Cloud made the hole even bigger!
- I believe when Cloud is reaching for Aeris/Aerith’s hand in Bahamut’s attack, you can see the wound Yazoo made with his gun in the beginning above Cloud’s eyebrow.
- The Meteor statue was made by Rufus, yet the inscription says “Keep on rocking in Midgar.” Could that be Reno’s words?
- The Diamond Weapon assault didn’t harm Rufus as much as we all think. This would explain why he was able to move so easily in the film. Here’s my proof.
A.) Rufus says “he managed to get out of the building before it collapsed
on him.” This would probably mean he wasn’t pelted or harmed by
any debris. In other words, maybe nothing even fell on his legs. ;)
B.) Seeing as how the building is still standing in the film, it shows us
how strong it really is, meaning it absorbed most of the impact.
C.) The blasts traveled a few miles to even reach Midgar,
indicating it might have gotten weaker as it was making it’s way to the Shinra building.
D.) Judging from the shotgun skills Rufus demonstrated, it seems that
he continued his training over the past few years, indicating he remained quite active and recovered quite quickly.
