The Monday Before the Dreaded S Day

Jan 17, 2006 01:15

I know that it's after 1, but, it's still Monday to me, since I haven't gone to sleep yet. lol ;) But, it's been a good weekend and a good start to the week. School starts for us Wednesday, so, I'm ready for it... truthfully, I'm really excited about my Internet Marketing class.... just the entire concept of it... plus we're going to be learning how to use Dreamweaver MX to make proper webpages, YAY! :D ...although... my Financial Systems class should be interesting, too, since I LOVE my professor in there... Dr. Rebecca Campbell is an awesome prof.

Lets see... I went and saw Memoirs of a Geisha over the weekend, which that is a really good movie, the book was atad bit better, though, I think. I also went to Wal Mart and bought groceries... that actually kinda struck home that I'm by myself in a place... not going with someone else, spending about $60 on groceries, etc. ...it was actually really kinda cool, I rather enjoyed it... could get everything I wanted... and everything I got was actually pretty healthy. :D

I finally got MOST of my kitchenware and all back, plus those that I brought up... the apartment just feels so much better since I have a small crockpot, blender, etc. on the countertop. What can I say? I'm truthfully not all that much of a cook, BUT I am working on it... and for the little time that I have the apartment to myself, I'll be experimenting on food prepartion...even if the oven/stove is electric...which is pure evil. (Gas stoves are the way to go, no self-respective chef would EVER use an electric stove.) ;)

Today was an AWESOME, GREAT, and WONDERFUL day for me. :D I went and joined the Starkville Martial Arts Academy. Which, that was really good and enjoyable... I actually knew a couple of people there... and will definitely be making several friends over the next while. But, they teach Taekwondo and Judo to lower level people and as you advance up you can join the Jujitsu clases. But, as Dr. Chris Dewey (the head sensei of the Dojo) calls the place "home" ...which, talking to everyone there... it does seem like an odd sort of family... there's some people that are in their 20s that have been there for over 16 years. But, everyone has a nick-name in there... and I already have mine, Daniel-san. ...apparently, I'm Dr. Dewey's first student to be namemd Daniel...and he holds 6th degree black belt in Ju Jitsu, 6th degree black belt rank in Judo, 3rd degree black belt rank in Hapkido and 3rd degree in Taekwondo and he has trained since 1968. But, today we did Sparring which was alot of time...basically, you get to hit and kick your opponet for points. :D

Also, met that bi/leaning gay guy I talked about last timem, his name is Matt... he was actually the guy I sparred against when I wasn't up against the black belts. (mainly for training...albeit, there's one guy, Dough, who ranks nationally in sparring every single year... he went at me... that was FUN :D) Then after we were done we went back to his appartment and hung out for abit... met his roomie and Matt's golden retriever who is great... albeit, not as good as a bulldog or doberman or anything, they're really great dogs. Then we drove around town for awhile and came back to my apartment and hung out... then after awhile went riding again, lol. But, basically, wound out spending about... 5+ hours just hanging out. But, he seems like a really good guy... definitely like we'll be good friends and all.

Lets see... also, my cuz/former roomie who had a job after he moved out got fired from it... he hadn't even been there for a month. He took alot of time off to do different stuff and called in sick and all that. ...and, what's laughable is that he blames his getting fired on his co-workers who wouldn't cover for him and all.

...and... 21 days til I turn 20, YAY. :D :D :D

So... over all, pretty much all happy news. ...I'll be alot happier when school starts back... can't wait to start at the ESL (English as a Second Language) Center with a new Conversation Partner. :)
