(no subject)
Well, I've had an eventful day. Mostly due to the fact that it was my first day of editorial interning at the magazine. *confetti* and all that.
It was quite a good day. I went through a travel book manuscript (for Atlanta) and marked pages that I thought could be linked to web content, wrote a blog entry on a LGBT con in Washington DC, ate lunch on a bench in Union Square, sat in the editorial meeting with the ed-in-chief and others for an hour (felt a bit overwhelmed), watched the Hudson River sparkle (lolz), and sent some magazines out. Everyone is very nice and apparently they feel they have to tone down their raunchy humor in front of me, which is really hilarious.
Unrelated to the job: had to turn down a shooting assignment with Prefix for The Dandy Warhols/Darker My Love show at T5 tonight since I didn't know in advance and didn't have my camera with me. Very sad. Hope somebody was able to take the job. And last night I went out on a limb and applied to the photo internship at Rolling Stone. I have an interview tomorrow morning. Yikes! Still great to be busy busy, but I hope I don't overdo it.
Don't know if I'll be going to Bloc Party now. But still covering Noah and the Whale on Friday. And then the double whammy of Presets/Cut Copy twice in a row!
