Never propose to somebody at their work. Bad idea for sure. I was already super nervous. I came in looking like a wreck with pale and clammy skin, sweat all over my clothes, wild eyes, hair looking like shite, and an odd stutter. Some of Ginny's coworkers were looking at me as if I had a fatal disease. One person even asked if I needed to go to St ( Read more... )

..Oh, Neville, darling. You shouldn't be embarrassed, I'm sure a lot of people get nervous when they're popping the question and all that. And, um, yes, catching her at work was probably a feat in itself, but I highly doubt she would say "no" to you after all of that.

Then again, I don't think she'd have said "no" in the first place. So. You're probably perfectly okay. Just wait for her to come home and try to just relax, so you can..talk?

I'm afraid that it will be awkward between us. I mean...I'd like to...talk and all.

Oh bugger.

I think you're thinking too much. It might be a tiny bit awkward, but the Question probably erases any kind of embarrassment that could come from the whole situation, you know? I mean, I think it would.

Just sit, take a couple deep breaths, and you'll be fine! Promise. Maybe grab a cup of tea too.

Tea. Yes! Tea is a great idea. Yes. I suppose I could head down to the coffee shop and order a tea or two.

I just don't know how to bring the whole conversation up, is all. Like, do I walk in and say "Hmph. About yesterday...", because then it would sound negative, and I don't know if I should sound too positive...

Merlin. Tea. I can start with that. Would you like to join?

I think if you replace "Hmph" With "So" and include one of those smiles that lets someone know you're aware that you kind of, maybe didn't handle something well, but you had good intentions, you'll be golden. Easy as that!

I'd love to, darling. Where should I meet you?

You're good at this stuff. That sounds like a good start to me, unless she of course, starts the conversation.

You know where the coffee shop is, right? It's near my herbology shop, I go there for breakfast sometimes. Say, 10 minutes?

Hehehe, well then you just cut to the smile and hope she goes with it.

Oh, yes of course. I'll see you in a few, lovely.
