Had to go take a drug test today for one of my new jobs (I look so sketchy). I was a bit worried that they might not be open, with this psuedo federal holiday we had on the 3rd, but was reassured by a) my friends telling me that, yeah, it'll be open, b) when I called, the phone menu did not say anything about a change in hours, and c) their

Did you have to pee in a cup or do they do the blood test some other way?

I'm sure it's a pee-in-a-cup type of tests, but I haven't done it yet, so who knows? It's no fun for the government to have a holiday on a Saturday, so when it happens, they have to assign some other day to be the "holiday"? In any case, they were closed, which just makes my hour long bus journey that much more annoying.

it'd be nice if they let banks close on the 3rd as well. considering everyone thought we were closed anyway...phone was ringing off the hook with "are you open?"...no. i just came into work to answer the phone all day.
