Max and Eva
Drawing heavily from performance art and activism, Max Voltage (San Francisco Drag King VIII) and twin diva sister, Eva Ning produce postmodern political shock drag shows that are ripe with sharp choreography, rich costumes and props.
The Twins have produced numerous shows between Portland and the Bay area over the past two years including Homos go Yo-Yo and Nocturnal’s New Year’s party, The Big Bang. They most recently appeared as the headliners for Reed College’s Annual Drag Ball, as well as participants in panel discussions on gender and performance at In Other Words.
Eva and Max have been collaborating artistically since birth.
This time around, Max and Eva hook up with Jack “of-all-trades” Hammer, construction connoisseur, project pro and drag performer.
Sparkleheart
Sparkleheart, the bjorkian bio-queen, holds the reigning title of miss genderfucking freakshow. She has been spreading her sparkle since summer 2003 at burlesque and drag events such as Skervy's Keep Yer Panties On and Max and Eva’s Homos go Yo-yo. Find out what surprises she's got in her pants at Sparkleheart's Burly-Q Underground. Mama Sparkle hearts all her lovelies! Don't be shy ...Shine on!
669
Seattle’s 669 is a band of two songwriters: Tony Bonjorno on violin and vox and Shane Rooks on bass and vox. Joined by Bob Silverstein on guitar-and by additional artists as needed-669 currently includes Dean Moore on drums (formerly of No Soap Rodeo) and Cheri Johnson on backup vocals. The project was conceived by Tony Bonjorno to play original, queer themed and produced pop and rock music. The two songwriters have musical backgrounds as diverse as graduate studies in classical composition and playing in an alt-country band. In their writing and performance style, they blend elements of the new wave of the 80s and 90s, country power ballads, intimate jazz vocals and contemporary alternative rock à la Bare Naked Ladies.669 plans to release their first album later this spring. The Divided
The Divided describe their work as beautiful songs about ugly things.
The Portland based quartet was formed in 2001 and continues to play razor sharp, “sometimes glum sometimes glam,”* but always melodic rock and pop.
The band gets its name from the differences between the four members’ musical styles, tastes and personalities. Taking a nod from everything from Jeff Buckley to PJ Harvey to King Crimson, the band carefully crafts tight, edgy, textured rock and pop with a mixture of Singer-Songwriter Folk, Punk, Blues, Alt-Country and Glam Rock.
The Divided recently released their first full-length album, Blueprint for Happiness. For more information, pre-orders and show times please visit
