I absolutely love stories. The most effective way to tell one is through film. You can see / hear / feel the stories in such a way no other story telling device is as... visual. As it so happens I'm a very visual person. My imagination knows no boundaries. Which brings me to my point. I have picked up a habit. The habit of screenwriting. This writing style appeals to me because, let's face it, you don't have to be precise in your grammar attempts.
There is only one down fall. It had been so many years since I have written any sort of story so I had forgotten how hard it is to develop a character. To find his / her voice when dealing in ridiculous situations. And the writing only gets harder when you try to write a comedy. I hope it's not just funny to me.
I'm taking an advance screenwriting class at the local film school. My teacher (from Bill and Ted's fame) told me to write what I know. Which I have already encountered while trying to write a comedy about a subject I had no direct experience with. Writing and art in general is hard to produce. And to do it in such a way that satisfies your artistic urge is even harder. I just need to figure out an ending.
