The little queen of whom Wendy is so fond has disappeared; her charmingly untrustworthy companion has gone in search of her; the Hatter keeps making that face.
When Wendy returns to Wonderland in the midst of this new chaos, she elects to stay and see what happens; she enjoys it when the Hatter makes that face and not having to expend any effort of her own to make it happen is, on its own, well worth price of admission. Certainly she feels a vague concern for where Alice has actually got off to, but she's startlingly confident of the girl's ability to take care of herself and no inclination to worry about the running of a country. Besides, they all seem to have that well in hand. It's the excitement that interests her...
Of course, no one place holds her attention forever and it's easier to stay if she goes, every now and again - so the nexus finds her once again, carrying her hat and purposefully in search of one man in particular that she'd promised, many months ago, would meet her again.
