Just updating everyone. First week of college went okay. I've been hanging with Angel a lot. My room mate Kelsey seems nice (though she is one of those people you can't get talking about their pets) and her dog is adorable. Also, I found out today she likes Sailor Moon, it was hilarious because she made this embarrassed confession to watching it as a child and I was like "Oh, I watched all 200 episodes this summer in a mad fit of madness".
Though I mentioned it in my last post, I just thought I'd reiterate that I have a fabulous wiki corunner in VeronicaEatsLemons. Everyone should check out her tumblr
here.
I am watching Read or Die right now in my Anime Adventure (This is what I've decided to call it. So far I have conquered Sailor Moon, Library Wars and Noir. WHO KNOWS WHAT NEXT.) Though Noir is technically better in like, symbolism and execution and all, I think it might be my favorite anime so far. I dearly want to be all the characters. I want book based super powers to make eldrich creatures and weapons and flying machines. I WANT BOOKS TO BE THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE AND THERE BE A SPECIAL BRITISH LIBRARY INQUISITION. Also, I love that our protagonists are action girls with diverse personalities who care deeply about each other and are just awesome.
Comics. I got them, did I not?
Supergirl #55
This was just an excellent issue. Okay, the way Kara got out of Bizarrogirl's solid vision was contrived (if Kryptonians can vibrate their molecules, what use is the Flash at ALL? And why would solid vision make a shell around Kara if she wasn't there? Why would it make a shell period) but I really like that Kara's feelings about the new Krypton fiasco at least, are being examined. I like that she defeated Bizarrogirl using her brain. I like that she's having PTSD flashbacks, but it's not overwrought. I like that she's critically examining how Earth treats aliens. I like that when she hears Bizarrogirl's world is being threatened, her first instinct is to help, no matter what the cost and despite the fact it's, you know, Bizarros, I like that she's still impulsive and immature enough she'd rather punch someone than argue with them. It just made for a great and unexpected climax. The art was fab too.

Hooolyyyy shit. Shit just got realer. Seriously, this issue was just OMG.
Poor Tom. I mean, seriously.
So let's look at this: Tom's dad tries to talk to him and Tom is really not listening, going "OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU" the entire time (and I have to say, he's pretty well within his rights). And Wilson flat out tells Tom Savoy and Lizzie are his Ron and Hermione. "They are not my fucking teenage sidekicks!" Yes, Tom. Yes they are. Also HIS MOTHER IS... Sue Morganstern. Who is the lady with the stairs from issue 2, I think. He called her Calliope because he's weird with his nicknames. AND THEN THE FATE OF THE WORLD DEPENDS ON YOU TOM.
And then BAM DAD DECAPITATION. Just like that. Well, you almost lasted an issue, Wilson Taylor. Good job. Meanwhile, Lizzie has been replaced in the world of Charles Dickens and now she's all catatonic and hospitalized. Tom is all "asdfghjlkl" and does magic with a plastic wand. Savoy is like "Well."
And then it turns out the publishing industry did an EPIC SWITCH and instead of the crappy book they were pretending to release, they released the REAL book, in which Tommy comes back from the dead and is Jesus.
So, just like the seventh Harry Potter book then. I kid! It appears Tommy doesn't use his new found Jesusdom to kill the Big Bad with the McGuffin, but instead like, legitimately preaches to people. That must have been the most boring book ever. But of course, it sparks the cults of the Tommyverse to become a minor religion. The news is pretty weirded out by the headless author in the sewer though.
Tom is cleared of all charges too, which would be great for him if he wasn't being chased by a shadowy cabal who killed his Dad.
IN OTHER WORDS SHIT IS SO REAL AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS PLOT IS GOING ANYMORE. IT IS CRAZY. CRAZY GOOD.

Pretty Lopresti art again, thank you! Tora is still whiny. I like the interaction between Bea and Rocket Red. Booster attempts to be comforting to Bea, but she just rolls her eyes at his sillyness because she is a BAMF. But oh no, surprise Max Lord is suprising!
3/5 (I'm pretty much getting this at this point because I don't get WW anymore, and it feels wrong to go to the shop and not pick something up.)
