Yesterday, Darren officially told his bosses that he was leaving Orange Cycle. I do believe they said "oh."

During spring break, I got a Dear John email from the University of Minnesota. They said it's not me, it's them.

Krystan, this is going to sound terribly cheese-tastic (soy cheese tastic)-- but in a year from now where you're at the absolute best school for you, you're going to be drinking a smoothie and think..man everything happens for a reason. You are a driven, smart, and engaging person. Anywhere that didn't jump on you immediately doesn't deserve you to begin with...and I suppose that extends the whole boy metaphor because I'd say that about any partner who wrote you that damn letter as well.

I felt the same way when I got rejected from the Fulbright. Although a bit different-- i mean I was obsessed, OBSESSED with winning it...and then had had everyone tell me I was going to win it....but I couldn't be happier now that I didn't get it. I wouldn't be living with Pau and B, I wouldn't be getting married, I would be much more lonely, would be making less money...etc, etc, etc...
and plus, here in Mallorca they all dress up like the KKK and give out almonds while they hang jesus on the cross tonight...I wouldn't have wanted to miss that...

congrats on having the courage to say you're moving "yes or yes"....things will fall into place, especially when you have all of the love in your life that you do...family, partner...etc. All those good wishes have to do some good!
