It doesn't matter that Emma's not teaching phys ed these days. She does what it takes to stay in shape, to stay a step ahead. The jungle here is littered with reminders of people who came before - fighters of all kinds, by the looks of it. Cable's got his obstacle course set up and somewhere there's the remains of a training ground for, of all things, it seems, a pack of acrobats, punching bags in various states of disrepair scattered across the island.

She favors these, finishing off a morning run with an attack on a bag that's worse off even than it was when she arrived. There's not much she knows how to do to fix them up, but she tries. It's frustrating, having no equipment of her own to speak of, but that's nothing compared to the soul-deep ache of being without her ability. She can handle frustration. It shows in her strikes now, more controlled than in her first days here. Hate the place though she does, she's regained her calm, inasmuch as she ever possessed it. While she's never been the strongest or best fighter out there, she's precise and determined and that, she's found, counts for a great deal.
