So I just read this.
And...I don't get it. I really don't. I cannot wrap my mind around hating a group of people enough to actually say that you believe it is just and right for them to be hunted down like animals. I can't comprehend why a corporation would give money to a man who is personal friends with a man who holds those beliefs.
Also, this: "[Homosexuals] play the victim when they are, in fact, the predator. On average, they molest 117 people before they’re found out. How many kids have been destroyed, how many adults have been destroyed because of crimes against nature?" That's a direct quote from Bradlee Dean.
There are a lot of people who think that gay = pedophile, and it's infuriating. Gay people aren't pedophiles. Gay people aren't gay because they were molested. Gay people aren't gay because they're 'confused' or 'rebellious'. They're not going through a phase. They were born that way, and the majority of pedophiles, by the way, are heterosexual men. No, really.
Not only is this confusing, it's personally offensive. I am bisexual. Everyone I know is either gay or bisexual. I know all kinds of people, and all of them are good people. A lot of anti-gay propaganda talks about God, and I just have to say that if I had to pick between my friends--who are either non-Christian or non-religious or both--and the people espousing these views, I would say that my friends all do a better job of living the way Jesus would want people to. Jesus had a message of love and acceptance. Jesus didn't put conditions on his love. He loved everyone, from the richest politicians to the lowliest of whores.
Today, there are people who hate in Jesus' name, and to them I say, "You are the real problem. You are a cancer in our society, spreading out and killing and poisoning everything you touch. You pervert a philosophy of love and peace and make it something to justify your rampant hatred of another group of people, simply because they're different from you. You are everything that's wrong with the world. You are what causes war. You are what causes innocent people to be murdered for who they love."
I believe in the philosophy of loving and forgiving those around you. I believe in accepting other people, even if it's hard. I believe that the world is an amazing, beautiful place, where astounding miracles happen so often they've become commonplace. And these people who take a philosophy like that, and use an old book written by men trying to gain support for their religion that was translated in a period massively more conservative than this one in order to justify their hate, are disgusting. I can't accept them and I can't forgive them. They want me and most of the people I care about to suffer and be killed, for no other reason than that they don't approve of who we want to sleep with. It's simply appalling.
