So tonight I spent time updating my slide show, so check it out!
I can't believe Christmas Eve is in a week! This year has gone by SO FAST!! Last week was rather odd with the random things going on.
Monday met with Jada that was normal...Tuesday hung out with Jenn instead of going to Clarion. We ended up spilling tomato soup and setting off her fire alarm...all is okay now.
Wednesday night I went to a new Bible Study group for the first time, they are all girls I already knew but wasn't apart of their group. It was great.
Thursday I saw my friend Jeremy who I hadn't seen in two years, went to a performance of the Wizard of Oz by special needs kids at Burke High, Buffett Middle, and Picotte Elementary, found out my grandma had surgery, and scheduled the AWAKEN cast. Whew!
Friday was a gathering at Dara's and today I shopped for Christmas with Erin and watched "High School Musical" with Tara and Jada.
I have to say though one of the most rewarding events was the Wizard of Oz performance I went to. I seriously cried about 10 times. It was just so incredible to see all these special needs students, some who were in wheelchairs, some able to walk with other needs...just get up and have courage and do this amazing show! Our Buffett staff had two whole rows filled (plus some) to cheer on our students as the munchkins and scarecrow. They stole the show. They knew all their dance steps as the lullaby league and lollipop guild, the lines as the mayor, and one of the students was the scarecrow and he keep bowing at random moments it was so sweet. Reminds me of what the true meaning of the season is and how much I have to be thankful for...those kids teach me so much!
So five days left before break. Can't wait. For those of you who care and want to know this is where I'll be over break:
December 22: Last day teaching, driving home to Des Moines
December 23: evening going to Hildreth's
December 24&25: Family time in DSM, IA
December 26&27: Family time in Clinton, IA
December 28: Angela & I's party at "Neveland"
December 29: At some point driving back to Omaha
December 30-January 3: NEW YORK CITY!!!
January 4: Blair with Erin for part of the day
January 5-7: Omaha
January 8: Back to school
Hope to catch up with some of you while I am home and PS. Can you pray for my grandma's recovery?
