Summary: What if Sebastian's discomfort with the love scenes in Third Man Out wasn't what it seemed?
Author's Notes: I wanted to write some Sebastian/Chad for you,
chlare, for your birthday. As always, I suck with deadlines ;) I hope (belatedly) that it was a good one.
Author's Notes (the second): I made this one work for the week's
slashthedrabble challenge: What If?
After the first month, Sebastian considered the fact that he hadn’t thought this project through entirely.
After two, he was routinely wishing he could kick himself in the ass for thinking that the part would be a refreshing “challenge”. Oh. It was challenging alright. Though not for the reason that everyone assumed.
Sebastian liked his coworkers. He still felt very strongly about the importance of the project, and he loved the way the end product was developing. But being the token “straight” guy on set had gotten old fast. Everyone was wonderfully accommodating and kindly sympathetic to his discomfort… and completely off-base as to why that discomfort existed.
Sebastian couldn’t take one more encouragement to “just give it time. I know it’s hard for you to relax into letting a man touch you this way.”
It was hard, yes. Ron had no idea. But if he kept pushing Sebastian… With his kindness and his patience… Inadvertantly making Sebastian feel guilty for requiring so many extra takes -for needing those takes for the one reason that shouldn’t exist on this set…
If Chad kept pushing Sebastian. With those eyes. The way they lit up whenever Chad laughed at something Sebastian had said to please him; the way they shut down with hurt whenever Sebastian reflexively pulled away…
Well. Then they would all find out just why Sebastian found touching Chad, holding him, kissing him hard to do in front of a camera.
“Okay. One more time.” Ron gave Sebastian a tight-lipped smile of reassurance. Chad was very quiet and very still behind him. Sebastian silently sighed and closed his eyes.
“And… action.”
“Rise and shi-” Chad began his line and reached around Sebastian, fingers scratching through the hair on Sebastian’s chest just as the scene called for.
And Sebastian let himself snap.
He turned before common sense could tell him not to. Beyond a widening of those beautiful blue eyes, Chad was too surprised to react. Sebastian took Chad’s face between his hands…
And kissed him like their lives depended on it.
After a moment, the deafening silence on the set broke his trance. Sebastian pulled away with his jaw set but his face burning.
“I do not find it difficult to let you touch me,” he said firmly, locking his eyes onto Chad’s expression. Chad was the one whose reaction meant most to him, after all. “I find it difficult to stop,” Sebastian finally made the admission out loud and waited for the fallout.
“I- I thought you were-” Chad stuttered.
“Yes. Well. Never underestimate the power of positive reinforcement,” Sebastian said, willing the words to make some sense.
Chad stared as Sebastian held his breath. Chad began to smile.
“Positive reinforcement, huh? I’ve got no problems with that.” He slid his hands up Sebastian’s arms and onto his shoulders. And kissed Sebastian back.
Sebastian smiled beneath Chad’s lips, amidst Ron’s laughter and the keygrips’ cheers.
Ron gave them the director’s cut of the film’s outtakes for their first anniversary.
