back to the daily grind...
Welcome weekend ended up being super fun. On Wednesday night after a horrendous 11 hours at work I went to Harper's with Meg and unwound with dinner and drinks. It was great that it worked out for her to come into town (she and Mike bought a house in Mason). I haven't talked to her in a long time and haven't seen her even longer than that. Either way - $16.42 later, we were full on drinks, alcohol, and girl talk. I enjoyed it immensely and can't wait for saturday!
On Thursday night, round 2 of welcome week, Molly, Jen, Katie and I went to the post for Ladies Night and $1 champagne - you can't beat that. New York came a bit later and then Brandon and his cousin showed up too. Kevin randomly walked by and then Kathryn and Jill showed up. It was just a bunch of randomness, but what can you expect during welcome week. Anyway, after a mandarin orange martini (which was quite good), at least 2 long islands and 5 or so champagnes we left the bar and were headed to Collingwood - I guess there was a big block party going on - anyway, we started to walk that way, but then decided to just go home. On the way, Molly and I stopped and visited Courtney at the desk... I was intoxicated and had no shoes on, but things were fun.
On Friday, round 3 :), I worked until 9 PM and then went home and got ready to go out. I ran into QD to grab provisions and ran into Brett Walker, which was fun - he let me cut :) - and was on my way to meet Kyle on Beal, but then he moved to Spartan and when I headed that way he decided not to answer his phone - fucker - anyway, since I was over that way I went to Eliz and Erin's new house and drank outside with them for a bit. Then, making sure I was going to find him because I didn't want to wander around drunk and alone, I left to find Tom and had good luck - he ended up being right around the corner. While outside at the party he was at I realized someone was saying my name and turned to find Mike Bannister, more randomness... Then Tom and I were chatting and Brandon and his cousin walked by! After we left the party Tom, his roommates and one of their girlfriends, and I wandered toward his house and ended up stopping at Rice Kitchen for food. On the way in, I ran into Doja, lol - I fucking love welcome week. I ended up camping out at Tom's and he was nice enough to drive me to my car the next morning so I could drive home, change, and get to work. I spent the day hung over and dealing with people building lofts. Extreme fun that I highly recommend to everyone.
I got off work at 6 and then ran some errands and finally got food into my system. When I got home I got ready for round 4 and then headed to Elizabeth's again for a quick minute before I headed to Kevin's girlfriend's house. I was only planning on staying there until Ben called, but both our phones were being stupid and so not only did we not even talk, I didn't get to see him. If I've talked to you about how frustrating this was I'm sorry that you're reading it again. Some other time hopefully it will work out. Kevin and Holly ended up getting into it too, so that was really fun to deal with... NOT. I hope they worked it out. Her 21st is this weekend so I hope to go out with them for that. And tailgating kicks off... this weekend has definite potential.
I've been thinking about quite a bit lately and have decided:
I want to meet a boy... but I NEED for it to be the right one.
I want to lose more weight... but I NEED to get back on schedule.
I want to go out and have more fun... but I NEED to not only do well in my classes, but on the GRE as well.
I want to hang out with my family more... but I NEED to be more open when they piss me off.
I want to say so many things... but I NEED to be a better friend.
Among many things... these have been first in my mind.
I'm out.
