I didn't mention it in my last update, but on Saturday when I was home one of the errands I had to run was to the Weekly to pay for my parents article/picture that we had put in the paper for their anniversary. Anyway, I was on my way out of town when I ran this errand so I was ready for work and looked hot - as opposed to having on shorts and a cut off and looking like I just woke up - and when I walked up to the garage (where so many years ago I worked) I hear someone say "Ashley O'Bryant" - in the sense that they were saying I was walking up. Well, I walked into the garage and to my surprise - it was John. Everytime I've stopped by to pick up a paper this summer I wonder the whole way there if John will be and the whole way home why he wasn't. John is a guy who, looking back on it now, I fell hard for my senior year. He's 2 years younger than I, but very mature - we'd worked together since he was in 7th grade and now he's quite grown-up. Anyway, he's the guy that I carved pumpkins with my senior year and he carved a pumpkin for me with my name and a heart - I have pictures, it was adorable. It turns out that even after the pumpkin and many other things I took to mean he liked me that's not the way it went down and I was majorly hurt. We've never really recovered and even now when I seem him it's akward. When I went into the garage on Saturday I felt a small victory - I'm 50 pounds lighter, I looked hot, and didn't even spare him a look. Which is so childish. But for those that know me.... know it was important that it happened that way.

The other night my parents came to my softball game, which was really cool of them. They brought Maggie of course, and she obviously had fun until it started raining and then had to get in the van. That's the sign of love - my mother risked her hair to watch me play :) I had a pretty good game and that means that my dad was decent with his comments. After the game we went for dinner at Bruno's where I ran into everyone and their boyfriend - literally. As I walked by the bar I heard my name and when I turned around - there sat Amanda Loynes :) I haven't seen Amanda since last summer when we all thought going camping for the 4th of July would be a good idea. It's been so long! What made the whole thing slightly ironic is that it's been that long since I last saw her but we had been planning on getting together tonight (Saturday) to go to a Lugnuts game and whatnot for Shaina's birthday and then bam! I all of a sudden run into her. Weird. I met the man who put the ring on her finger. A promise one, that is, but still... He seemed very nice. I hope she isn't with him though just because he's into her. But that's another issue. I also ran into Ryan Grubaugh! I've been talking to him lately on 2-way and everytime I'm in St. Johns we can't seem to get together, the one time I don't plan to see him, I do! Anyway, seeing them, plus dinner with my parents equaled a great night - even though we got our asses kicked at our game. P.S. Anyone interested in playing on a team for the Fall? Or co-ed for next summer? Let me know.

I'm off to explore Amazon.com - it's so addicting!!

Muah!
