Club Infinite

Replicator played a place in Merced, CA called Club Infinite this weekend. This show was the culmination of a few people who saw us in Merced years ago asking us on a constant and continuous basis to come back down. My response was always the same:
"If there is someplace good to play, we will come down."

Well there is again, so we did.
Everybody was a little out of it, as we had shifted out of "tour mode" and back into regular life, and within about 20 minutes of being back on the road, it was as if the last couple weeks of regular living hadn't happened at all. Never had that happen before, but then again we've always taken a pretty long break after tours generally.

Club Infinite is at a church, but it's not a church thing.
See, the dude Bruce happened to go in one day and saw this awesome setup with a stage and nice soundsystem and asked "What is this used for?" the answer? Nothing, really. Since he was looking for a place to put on some shows, deals were struck and the church agreed to let him put on some all ages rock shows as long as it wasn't like Mayhem playing or something.

Sounded fine by us.

It was a little surreal to walk into a place and see a giant wooden cross hanging behind the stage, but the delicious mexican food and classic The Cure music playing was reassuring.

My dad, brother and his pals came out for the show from Modesto, which was really awesome, ahhh the wonder of all ages shows. And we met this dude Chris who is on the EA forums and goes to the local school.

The first two locals played, who both seem to like the Mars Volta a lot, and were well received.
The the Near and the Far played, who were a fill in band from the bay area... and still pretty new. Awesome, awesome dudes, I hung out with them a lot. I hope they keep at it and keep finely honing what they do. It was like instant tour comraderie, even though we were only 2 hours from home to have another bay area band there... ha ha!

Setlist (as best as I remember):
Fashionably Latent
Payment Www.yzzz.rd
Delicious Fornicake
Happy Loyalty Day!
The Tiny Machines are (Still) Out for Revenge
Baby, I Want to Terraform Your Planet
Login With My Fist

We were originally going to play Warrior Needs Food, Badly, since it's a crowd pleaser (despite the ridiculous length), but Chris actually was playing the show with food poisoning, so we cut it at the last minute.

It was pretty good overall, even when trying to modulate the sound, we still totally overpowered the PA most of the time... ah well, not much we can do about that.

We didn't make dick off of the door, but sold about $90 in Merch, which paid for the gas down there and back and a little extra, not bad!!

I'd definitely recommend Club Infinite as a weekend pickup show, not sure if it'll be a repeat stop for the Replicator as our reaction was pretty good, but not incredible, but still... I always love rocking the valley!

Mike from the Near and the Far took some pics too:

I swear I saw this same photo with Steel Pole Bathtub once!
